It would profoundly impact our economy (negatively). The United States acts in effect like the Yankees of MLB. We sign the best and brightest "free agents" from around the world to live and work in our corporations and academies. Stopping this influx of talent would be an excellent way of ensuring that America becomes less competitive in the global market.

It won't work. As a free nation we will always have some risk but it's worth it to be free.

It should eventually be that the applications will be offered by the foreign governments,filed with the perspective governments,screened by those governments,then submitted to the US government agency ,for evaluation,and either accepted or denied,BEFORE the persons have left their home lands

Hopefully.
I know that people always resort to the ol' reliable "this country was founded on immigration".True,but that was when we needed people.Now we have 300 million.I believe that is enough.
