I'm a Democrat but I know better to think that either party is completely innocent when it comes to corruption. Both parties through American History have all committed both minor and major scandals in the government at local, state, and national(federal) level. But that's just what happens when one party takes majority for too long, they get corrupt. It's kind of like human nature in my opinion. Obviously with the Republicans in power for so long, numerous scandals have been committed which is one of the primary reasons voters gave the majority to Democrats. Voters were tired of the corruption and wanted change. But the same thing will happen most likely if Democrats stay in power for too long as well, CORRUPTION. And it's not just Republicans and Democrats, the same corruption would happen too if Independents somehow won majority or any 3rd party (Libertarian, Green, etc.) Anyway, I don't think that both parties are literally "corrupt" but that's what simply happens when one party or group of people take majority for too long which is why balance is so important.

I believe a high percentage of Americans know there is corruption of some sort on both sides. 80-90% I would guess. I myself am independent, I look at both sides and agree and disagee on certain issues. Now days, it is all about their party and who is in control. Americas best interest is not their top priority despite what they say. I'm tired of the mudslinging, left vs. right, Bush is guilty of war crimes, Clinton commited adultry. Hey, remember the secret life of JFK, or the Iran-Contra during Reagans term? They are considered two great presidents for what they accomplished. But there was also corruption involved.

A large percentage are apathetic, and do not vote, recent survies demonstrate that they dont beleive their vote makes a difference, which indicates that there is no chooice only a lesser of two evils, using deductive reasoning it is easy to see that most Americans who are eligable to vote believe corruption to reign supreme, as a good voter turn out is below 50% of registared voters!

I personally think that corruption is spread equally between both major parties, and find my self voting libertarian quite alot as they have not yet been coorrupted completely

Most people think only the politicians from other states are corrupt. The pork/earmarks situation is corruption in my book. If we had term limits on people in Congress then they might actually work for the nation and not just to get re-elected.

I wish it would raise so we could get the Democrats and the Republicans out of office. We won't see any changes until the American people let the parties know that we a sick of the way they are running our country.

100% of people who give it a thought KNOW that both parties are corrupt.
Since some uncaring people don't even think about it, I'd say about 65% of people know the parties are corrupt.
