I think it only looks that way now because for so many years we never responded to acts of agression with anything more then an ohhhh you're gonna get it , just wait until we tell....
I personally believe that with or without the backing of the list of usual suspects who normally stand with us we are doing the right thing. and it's about damn time.
let me just add this isn't the belief of someone who has nothing to lose by sending our military to fight. you see my son is a U.S. Marine now serving in Iraq on his third deployment into a combat zone. so I do have a pretty good Idea of the cost of going to war

Open an encyclopedia, and look at the countless of coup d'etats against democratic governments (in Iran, Latin America, Africa and elsewhere) that were implanted and supported by the US.
During the Cold War, everytime a third world country tried to do something that damaged US corporate interests, the marines invaded and implanted some puppet government to prevent change and guarantee profits for american companies.
It's no wonder a good part of the world hates us. Our cold war leadership, interference in other countries' affairs, support for terrible dictatorships and pre-war interference in the Caribbean and Central American areas has left a legacy of murder and destruction that still echoes today.
Not to mention that today we still support dictatorships such as Musharraf's in Pakistan, the Saudi Monarchy or the Chinese repression of Ughiur independentists.

No. Yes, it puts up with quite a lot before it stands up for itself--and then has to put up with a lot of crap while it's standing up for itself!

The U.S. , or the president is an egostical fanatic and is trying to control the natural resources, oil, produced by the rest of the world. Its never going to happen, the after effect of this aggression caused by greed has already killed 150,000 American soldiers in Iraq

it's a life
they are the only superpower in the world, which means it's not a great suprise to see their larges actions around the world.
But we have to recognize that, especially in war in irak, the bush administration has made some stupid errors, they're paying off now .
