A local group fighting for immigrant rights is calling for a boycott of two nationally known companies. Dunkin Donuts and Applebee's are accused of discriminating against immigrant workers whose names don't match their social security numbers.

What's about this whole insult called 'liberal'? Surely it's good to be a liberal because they believe in freedoms, liberties, democracy etc the most..

The only time I've seen a burning Mexican flag was last May. American flags are burn so often they already amount to a % of the Ozone Layer Hole.

And don't say it's because you're great, cause they hate you even in those places where the way of life is far higher than in the US (germany, Switzerland, France)

This plan should be a sensible one to both sides:

1. U.S. citizens do not hate Mexicans, we just feel that a massive influx of illegal Mexicans (65% of all illegals by some estimates) needs to come down to a trickle.
2. A border fence is the only sensible way to slow down illegal entry. Of course a border fence will not be 100% effective, but if we can slow down the rate of illegals from 1 million a year down to only 175,000 a year that's alot of progress.
3. The high rate of illegal Mexicans combined with a high rate of birth by those same Mexicans is putting tremendous strain on our schools and social services and as a result their remittances back to mexico should be taxed since they do not pay FEDERAL INCOME TAX.
4. ESOL class should only be for one year. There is no reason why it should take a child longer than one year to learn functional english. "English First" should be a national policy when it comes to education.

With all the things that are happening in our schools lattly, it seems the "kid" never got discipline at home. It doesen't seem that they even know what is right and wrong any more. I got spanked when I was growing up. I also got molested when I was a small girl, I'm not a "bad Seed" I've never done any thing leagly wrong. I've always stayed out of truble. Why? Charleston(S.C) City Councilman Larry Shirley says society has gone awry, and it's time to start a "dialogue."

"What we've got is a failure in society, whether it's in Mount Pleasant with yuppie parents or whether it's on the East Side with poor crackhead parents," Shirley said Friday. "We pick up stray animals and spay them. These mothers need to be spayed if they can't take care of theirs. ... Once they have a child and it's running the streets, to let them continue to have children is totally unacceptable." Deadbeat dads might ought to be sterilized as well, he said.

State Sen. Robert Ford, D-Charleston, says Shirley is correct, that this is a societal problem.
