I've been watching the festivities with North Korea and it got me to wondering, are there any nations' diplomats who aren't allowed at the U.N., or are all nations allowed to go there? I don't think all countries are U.N. members, are they? When I was talking to a friend about North Korea and the U.N., he said it was doubtful that Kim Jong-Il would leave North Korea because he is probably paranoid that a coup could occur while he is gone, just like happened in Thailand a few days ago. Anyone got any insight on the rules and such with the U.N.?

If a group of non-muslim women are walking down the street towards you wearing hooded tops covering their heads and foreheads & bandanas over their mouths and noses, how would you feel as they came closer to you? Perhaps they would want to chat with you or something but nothing untoward.

Would you feel like being able to engage them in conversation with clearcut intentions, expressions etc both ways? Perhaps you may feel apprehensive? Or would you cross to the other side feeling a little bit 'out of place'? Would you feel like its the 'them and us'?

...They may happen to be the nicest people on earth but how would feel at first instance? Be honest...

Seems like the Democrats vote against Photo ID requirement just to let them vote, and the big businesses backed by republicans are shoving out their produce just to say 'oh, well we didn't have enough illegal immigrants to pick it, thanks to you beginning to crack down on the border'

Dems want the -illegal immigrant- vote and the repubs with big businesses want them for cheap labor.

wtf? and we have only these two messed up choices?

Royse City Texas. A hispanic man is suing the city for 1 million for not training officers to speak spanish. The gentlemen in question claims he was assaulted by a police officer at a football game in 2004. He claims that if the officer had spoken spanish the incident could have been avoided. No one is talking about the specific details of what happened so for our purposes the conduct of the officer and whether an assault actually occured is not at issue. It should be mentioned though that the officer is not named in the suit, only the city. Further, the man appears to be a legal resident so immigration is also not an issue in this case.

If as the man states this was the result of a failure to communicate, then if he had spoken english the situation could also have been avoided, but as has become the norm in this country, I shouldn't have to change, society should change to accomodate me.

What say you?

thanks to one sick bastard, they're going to win.
You can bet they'll leave Iraq and Afghanistan within seven months.
Because supposedly the war on terror is 'bad' because it creates more terrorists. Doesn't make any sense.

So assuming we get attacked again, which we eventually will by leaving the fight and not defeating the enemy, then what?

We go BACK to the middle east? wow..

Great plan.

Following explosions and a fire at a hazardous waste management facility, a cloud of noxious gases hovered over Apex, North Carolina, overnight, prompting town officials to ask up to 16,000 residents to evacuate as a precautionary measure.

I'm sure we will soon hear that this was "absolutely" not done by some Muslims. Old George gotta keep his "no terror attacks" record clean.

Mexicans Hire Bush Advisor to Stop US Immigration Reforms
In a move that has many proponents of tough US border security and illegal immigration reforms scratching their heads in puzzlement, Mexican President Vincente Fox recently retained the services of a well-known Republican strategist to help stop the rising tide of public outcry over poor border security and rampant illegal immigration.
When the House of Representatives passed a key bill that would provide an additional 700 miles of border fencing on the US-Mexican border, and would make illegally entering the US a felony, Fox denounced the measure as shameful. His foreign minister called it stupid and underhanded. "If the Mexicans want sympathy from US citizens, calling them stupid and underhanded isn't going to do it."
