first lets clarify. terrorist activity are daily implimented measures by gangs in this country. we have border guards recieving pop shots by 'coyote' types along the mexican border. We have kids going crazy with guns at school. People randomly taking hostages for obscure purposes.
So forgive me for taking out of context, what you mean is 'why havent there been any massively significant Al Queda operations in the US since 2001-09-11?

intercepted text messaging on the east coast shut some guys down.
the muslim community coming forward and delivering some home-growns they found amongst them.
there was that whole anthrax thing however.
but primarily the cause may be due to the careful plodding positioning involved, the ongoing evaluation of targets as soft or hard and what it would take for a 100% successful operation in face of our changing security measures.
and also of no small consequence
130,000+/- patriots in bedoinville.
i hope that helps.
btw. we do interrogate our POWs. we get leads from them in thier network and have made several dozen detainments from people residing inside the US. Also a result brought to us by troops in Iraq.
Its a sad reality.
Some will say we are torturing prisoners, while in fact the prisoners are treated extremely well. WAY above the level they would treat you given the chance.

-RUSS- is a complete moron. Osama had already declared war on the US under Clinton. We had three prolific attacks during his tenure which he didnt do much about. USS COLE. WTC1 parking garage bomb. MARINE BARRACKS in Africa 'CLAIMED' by Al Queda. Our commander in chief's actions did nothing but fill them with hope and trigger persuit mechanism.
between 92 and 98? you must be refering to your age in your sinility you putz.

The aftermath of 9/11 shocked the US and the rest of the free world from its complacency; and resulted in a collective and coherent effort to combat terrorism on all fronts globaly. Freezing bank accounts and assets of known terror organisations and support agencies; tighter international cooperation by sharing/acting on intel information; arrests of suspected members of outlawed organisations globally were some of the actions undertaken.

The US of course set up Homeland Security to collate data from all 16 US intel agencies. In short the mechanisms are in place to prevent terrorist acts inside America. But US interests including its citizens continue to be vulnerable to attacks anytime anywhere in the world. However, terrorists will find it much harder to operate or carry out an act on the scale of 9/11

Three answers: Troops in Iraq, Troops in Afghanistan, GW Bush

To the other moron concerning 1992-1998 Try World Trade Center Bombing in 1993, USS Cole Bombing, US Embassy bombings for starters. Clinton did nothing in response to three separate attacks by Islamic/Osama terrorists.

Illusioned for a while. Nothing is infallible including USA. Who are the terrorists anyway - Israel massacre of Palestinians - Isn't state terrorism? The massacre of 15 familly members at the beach - Wasn't terrorism?

Probably for the same reason that there was little in the way of foreign based terror attacks from 1776 through 9/10/01. One other WTC attack. OKC was domestic.

It was a terrible day -- but it did not establish a pattern.

More importantly, why have over 100,000 Americans died on US roads due to DRUNK DRIVERS since 9/11? That's a REAL threat. Terrorism isn't. And let's not forget that our President is a convicted DRUNK DRIVER! WTF with that??

Maybe the terrorists are just waiting for an opportunity to attack something bigger and more dramatic, like taking out the white house.

Its because US has improved the operation of their intelligence agencies. The war on Afghanistan and Iraq has done more harm than good but the improvement in intelligence has proved to be fruitful.

Because the GOP didn't need more. The populace was properly scared into submission and stories about planned attacks sufficed to give the Bush junta a boost whenever the public threatened to wake up.

Plain and simple
