Mexicans Hire Bush Advisor to Stop US Immigration Reforms
In a move that has many proponents of tough US border security and illegal immigration reforms scratching their heads in puzzlement, Mexican President Vincente Fox recently retained the services of a well-known Republican strategist to help stop the rising tide of public outcry over poor border security and rampant illegal immigration.
When the House of Representatives passed a key bill that would provide an additional 700 miles of border fencing on the US-Mexican border, and would make illegally entering the US a felony, Fox denounced the measure as shameful. His foreign minister called it stupid and underhanded. "If the Mexicans want sympathy from US citizens, calling them stupid and underhanded isn't going to do it."

They react like spoiled children who had everything simply handed to them their whole life being asked to get a job. How dare we defend our own country and citizens lol.

Bush signed the bill, Mexico needs to collectively pull its' socks up, find some suitable rock quarries, start mixing concrete, and pouring its' own roads. Mexico's got a 1 trillion dollar GDP, that's sufficiently well-off to get off their butts and start building
roads
schools
hospitals
homes
police stations
malls
airports

all the other important things that make it so you can support enough commerce to feed your people.

They can sit around and whine and cry all day long for all I care, bluntly spoken, if it wasn't for all the years of generous help our country has given theirs, they'd still be shooting each other over the last bottle of tequila, and riding burros.

This is the 21st century. Mexico's got a choice, evolve and join it, or end up looking over the fence, wishing that they had. We don't need their illegal workers, their 'you owe us' BS politics, come right down to it, we don't even really need their oil. We sent them factories, hotels, billions of free aid money, for....what, exactly?

I support the border fence idea. I think when they've got it built, it'll help reduce a lot of crime on both sides of the border. They'll cry about reductions in profits, but there's more to life than how much money you've got. Mexico declared its' independence from Spain, now they need to stand up on their own and be a good neighbor with us. We can send em books, we can send em shovels, we can send em granny's gold locket. But, at the end of the day, it's not enough for some, they'd like the deed to the ranch, please, there's still some of em that contest history, and hell-bent on living in the past. Hence the need for the fence...

I liked this part of your very good link.

Fox, who didn't seek reelection in 2006, did wish to leave a legacy that provides easier access to the United States, so he turned to a GOP insider to help him. The conventional wisdom is that the Republican Party is tougher on national security and homeland security, so they are the leaders to whom he must plead his cause.

Wouldn't it have been better to have left behind a legacy of prosperity and good jobs for his people in their own country ? Wouldn't it have been a better legacy to provide a way for all Mexicans to achieve a better standard of living that would allow all people to share in the dream of having a good job at a livable wage, good medical care and decent housing in Mexico and not having to do it illegally in the USA. He is a hypocrite, hes a very rich man who cares nothing for the poor in his country.

Really, the States has to stop complaining about illegal immigrants. My advice to Bush is, make sure you got strict security around your borders, and you will do great!

What do they have to lose? Nothing.
What do they have to gain?
Money and government services that belong to our citizens and eventually our very nation.
