thanks to one sick bastard, they're going to win.
You can bet they'll leave Iraq and Afghanistan within seven months.
Because supposedly the war on terror is 'bad' because it creates more terrorists. Doesn't make any sense.

So assuming we get attacked again, which we eventually will by leaving the fight and not defeating the enemy, then what?

We go BACK to the middle east? wow..

Great plan.

lol, plant fire in N.C.?

Uh, when you see a MUSLIM MAN HIJACKING A PLANE WITH A HUNDRED PEOPLE ON BOARD...

And run it into a building...

That's an obvious act of terrorism.

And that plant fire, did a jihadi run a truck full of explosives into it or did it just catch fire like a normal accident?

If you think leaving Iraq will cause more terrorism, you have a very narrow view of the world as a whole
You actually have to look at the world outside the US as well as within!

As David said above, the Republican ideals work for America. The dissatisfaction of the American people is not with the party. It's with the leadership. This administration has racked up one snafu after another. Their failure to act in a timely manner with Foley is just another blemish on the Republican leadership. The president's foreign policy is not working. The war in Iraq is a disgrace.
It's time that those of you who are Republicans realize the leadership needs replaced. That needs done before the party becomes as ineffective as the Democratic party is today. America cannot take both of its major political parties in shambles.

I think that it's ridiculous to give up and give in because one Republican behaved like a whole host of Democrats. I also think that most American voters are a lot smarter than the Democrats give them credit for being. Democrats believe that they are smarter than anyone else and so they should get to make the decisions for anyone else. then, when the electorate hands them their asses at the voting booth, they go into meltdown and can't get over the fact that their tired old crap isn't appealing to anyone, anymore. It happened with Goofy Al Gore in 2000 and again with Lying John Kerry in 2004. Republicans need to be smart and get the word out that their programs work. The economy is at a record high, taxes are lower unemployment is down, schools are getting better and we're backing the Islamo-fascists into a corner so we can exterminate them. Democrats are running around yelling that the sky is falling, blaming America for everything that's wrong in the world, cozying up to every crackpot dictator on the globe and telling you that you really should be paying a lot more in taxes to support those people who will not get up off their butts to support themselves.

The Democrats are going to win because of one sick bastard, George Bush. Don't forget the rest of the sick bastards though, like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the entire Neocon cabal that has been trying to lead this country into a new configuration that can only be described as "Super Guatemala", where 2% control 94% of the wealth and the rest of us become peasants (and cannon fodder)in a U.S dominated world.

God willing, the Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives, leaving the poor little GOP with only the Senate, White House, Supreme Court, most of the federal bench, and vast majority of the bureaucracy.
If you think Mark Foley is the only reason the majority of Americans have gotten fed up with the idiocy of the neocons, get another think. Mismanagement of foreign affairs (yes, including Afghanistan and Iraq and Iran and N. Korea and so on and so forth), mismanagement of the economy, violation of the Constitution, and policies in general that prove them to be exactly what they have always been, have contributed just a wee bit to the awakening of the electorate.
Foley may be the most recent skelington to crawl out of the Republican closet, but he is not the worst, and by no means is he the last.
Stay tuned. The saga continues.

It's NOT about a "war on terror" or "fighting for freedoms". It's REALLY all about THIS!...

Also, it's NOT about Democrats winning. Political parties are merely an ILLUSION, because THIS secret and evil group has been in control of everything for far too long!...
