Poverty cannot be wished away by largess of the government and the NGOs. It can be eradicated by schemes generating more and more employments, in agriculture and labour intensive schemes. Globalisation may bring more wealth to the country, but unless the down trodden and the rural labourers and farmers are in a position to get employment and produce crops and articles that fetches them their due remuneration, no amount of occasional charity will really make any difference.
