Decline, your life will boil down to how much longer you have to live on average vrs how much more you can pay in in taxes. Also health care will be projected and it will be harder to deal with growth of a population and to deal with bad years. As it is now you charge and resupply, with universal heath care it is how many heart attacks do you get on average a year and that is what you will have supplies for, you won't get any more.
Britain and Canada both are having problems with cost and I have read some reports on some hospitals being shut down, I see no reason to believe that the same problems won't happen to us. Plus do you really want your health care done with the compitency and personal care of the IRS and the personal feeling you get from the DMV?

My first thought is to say decline, however, they have REALLY turned the military (VA clinics) around, so much so, that they are considered state of the art, and a privledge to use.
So, if they model after that, then it should be really good.
But you know what...any medical coverage to the uninsured would be a blessing.
It's insurance that has caused everything to go up...doctors and hospitals charge it because they know insurance will pay it.
IMO, let's make the insurance companies deny stuff and make them lower the rates again.

Initially it would probably decline because conservatives would try to screw it up since they hate everything that benefits anyone anywhere and because the government cannot seem to do anything right. Eventually, it would be better.
The real question is: Why is America the only developed country in the world that is incapable of doing what everyone else can do?
And remember, Bush has promised Iraqis that they all will have complete and full health care.
If we can do it for Iraq, why cannot we do it for Americans?

Quality would remain about the same( there are already state funded insurances out there), but our taxes would go through the roof! We might have to wait longer for an appointment because people who have not been able to go to a doctor for years would now be in the system too.

Decline. They would have to ration it to keep the costs down.

not sure on this...already pay a ton on health insurance and it doesn't cover everything. my siste rhad cancer and so i had to have a preventative ultrasound to make sure i didn't have the cancer too. well it cost me out of pocket $400...that stinks!
in order to have universal health coverage i think our taxes out of our paychecks would be like 50% YIKES!
