non democratic governments can only survive because banks and big corporations support them and invest with them. if that goverment is replaced by a democracy then the people are still liable for the debts to these banks and corporations that have been run up by the previous non democratic regime. if the banks and corporations had to invest at their own risk and any subsequent democratic government was not liable for the debts run up by the dictators, would the investment dry up and democracy triumph without a shot being fired?

I think with the political climate in the U.S. I think it's time for a change and Obama is one of the better politicians in the U.S. political cesspool. But I think he needs a few more years before even thinking about the U.S. presidency! He's a good man but he needs more time in government or maybe he'll be the best man because he's to young in his career to be corrupted! What do you guys think?

Would all these shootings at our kid's schools happen if guns weren't wayyy too available for every psycho that passes by?
Why should people ( not supposed to take justice in their own hands remember?) own guns? I always hear " I want to be able to defend my family if attacked", well if guns weren't available whoever attacks you wouldn't have a gun either so how is that a valuable argument?

It is scary as hell that someone could just walk into a school and shoot innocent children! This shows that terror comes in many different forms and religions not just muslim men with turbans and beards! This scares me more than any terrorist attack from foreigners since this is homegrown and has happend so many times nation wide. It seems there should be some nation wide procedures implemented at each school to prevent this from happening. And I do not think making guns illegal is the answer because crazy people will find guns. Maybe some funds from homeland security could be spent on this problem! What do you think?

An estimated 500 prisoners in Guantanamo.
Only 10 (yes, ten) charged.
490 remaining prisoners not proven guilty of any crime.

Who is America trying to fool? They're only fooling themselves, pretending that the Bush regime is necessary for world safety? And now the Congress has agreed to Bush' suggestion to allow the prisoners in Guantanamo (and other more or less secret US prisons around the world) to be treated outside of the law. What are laws for? Aren't they supposed to be valid for everyone? Presidents do not have the right to act outside of the law. Bush is none better than Hitler himself. He is absolutely NOT indispensable for the world's safety. In fact, he is the biggest threat to world safety since a meteore whiped out the dinosaurs. When will the American people throw him off his throne? How long will they continue to accept his lies? When is it that the world will finally see Bush's heinous face behind bars?
