water is good
so is heating lighting basking etc

there are also feeder fish 7 orignally and now only 6 (he ate one the first day i had him) this is now 3 weeks ago. i got it at the pet store (legally w/ purchase of tank equipment) they have another one and it eats pellets os it's not a breed thing it this turtle thing and i was wondering if any one had multiple HEALTHY turtles that wouldn't eat pellets for some reason and if this ever stopped. he's about 4 inches. it's a eastern painted turtle. the one at the pet store was identical in size and species.

so to recap only eats tuna boiled chicken and turkey
not feeder fish, pellets, or lettuces (romaine)
WHY?

I have 2 turtles that are normally active and healthy. But the past few days one turtle is lethargic and sleeping all the time. He seems to be eating well and he has no other signs of being sick. He just isn't as active as usual. This isn't normal for him. Why is he like this?

Hey. I have one Russian Tortoise and I've heard a lot of different things on how to take care of them. I've heard that it's bad to put them in an aquarium indoors. On one website I've been to it actually says that they can't even survive indoors. But the thing is that I live in Illinois and it gets really cold outside in the winter, and during the summer the temperature fluctuates a lot. I don't really feel safe for her to be outdoors because I don't know if there is any chemicals in the grass or if there are any poisonous plants that she might eat. I have her in a 50 gallon breeding container so I think she has enough space. I've also heard that putting alfalfa pellets or something of that consistency is bad to use as a substrate. I'm using the Bed-A-Beast substrate right now and it's a real hassle when I want to clean the cage. If anybody has any advice for me, it would be much appreciated!!

My husband found this little guy at work and thought it would be cute to bring home for the kids because they have been wanting one. He seems to be doing fine right now but I want to know if I should let them keep him or let him go....it all depends on what kind of turtle he is. Here's a picture of him....

Well, I need help caring for a Red Eared Slider Turtle, who is 1 inch long. She lives in a 40 gallon tank, and lives outside, who gets real sunlight(not an artificial source). It also has a basking spot and lots of swim space. Can anyone help me to train it, and take care of it?

I have had my turtle since early september of 2006. My family went on vacation for 3 or 4 days. When we came back my turtle had a little bit of weird whitish stuff on her shell. I researched it and it appeares to be minor shell rot. If it worsens then we're going to go to the store or this turtle doctor we know of. But has that happened to any of you guys?? If so, what did you do to fix it?
