We have just bought two baby tortoises ( 10 months old) and are worried that they are not setling in very well. We were advised take two as they would be company for one another. We chose them from a group of 8 - 10 tortoises and they all seemed lively and were moving about and eating. However since we brought them home they seem very unintersted in one another and have hardly eaten. They havnt moved much and sit at opposite ends of the tray. We were advised to keep them indoors initially and we have a lamp shining on the tray daily. (only one of the tortoises sits near it) the other prefers to hide away under a box. Its almost as if they seem depressed. We have put them outdoors daily and yet they dont seem to be responding to their new environment. Is this normal?

i live in south florida for reference. and i found this near the lake in my neighborhood's park.

i was thinking it could be a crocodile or alligator skull, half of it at least, but i've been told by an expert on reptiles that it is not. so i'm trying to figure out what it is or what i should do to figure out what it is. thank you.

My family has a red eared slider turtle that we have had for about 9 or 10 years now. He was just big enough to be allowed to buy when we got him. Over the years, we have become very attached to him and he has to us as well but recently he has started actting weird. He just constantly bangs himself against his tank and digs in his gravel. That's all he does now. It's like he is very aggravated at something but we do not know what. We take him out to run around and clean his tank etc. so he is very well taken care of. With the recent pet food recalls we have been wondering if that may have something to do with it. We give him Wardley Reptile Sticks. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate them very much!

I just adopted a hermit crab. He/She is a light peachy color. The problem is, I already have a hermie named Chuck and I need to find a name that sounds good said "Chuck and _______"
Please do not give me a site with a bunch of names- that doesn't help:) If YOU need help with ideas, here is a list : http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/namelists/a/namescrab.htm

Maybe you'll see a name I missed :-)
