put some aquatic plants in its tank, you can buy them at a store, or just got to a pond or stream near you and collect some, you should probably give him some live food like fish and earth worms as well.
Enjoy your turtle.

Baby Red-ear Sliders eat meat, not veggies. To supplement the pellets, try live or frozen-thawed fish foods like shrimp, krill, worms, bugs, etc.

My red eared slider does not eat many vegtables. He eats mainly store bought pellets from a can. I have given him lettuce before.

Dark leafy greens are a great. Kale, Collard Greens, Mustard Greens and Spinach are good.

You can feed shredded carrot (throw it in a food processor if you have one) but only as a treat, as they are high in sugar.

As for your previous question about filters, if you haven't already bought it yet, i love the aqua clear. I reccomend that one.

My RES snubs veggies haha! We tried lettuce and broccoli and kale and she was like "no thanks". But she LOVES freeze dried shrimp! Her diet is mainly turtle sticks and at night I give her 3 shrimp. She also LOVE slugs and earthworms and those are free ( =
