My boss found a little sea turtle (about a quarter size) in the beach and she brought it home, The turtle is always hiding in the sand, she will survive? should be the turtle in sand and water or where?
She doesn't want to put her back on the sea because some big fish could eat her.

Tell your boss to return that sea turtle to the wild where she found it, or she can take it to an aquarium where they can properly care it. It is illegal to catch them.

Baby sea turtles really have it rough in nature, few actually live long enough to get to the water much less live to be adults.

A sea turtle's job is to make more sea turtles. True, they get eaten by fish, but that's life, only the ones that are smart enough and quick enough to stay away from the predators get a chance to reproduce.

Sea turtles are endangered species, and just picking up a hatched eggshell from the beach is considered a felony.

Your boss needs to do the right thing. It may be too late for the little guy already, if it's a female, it NEEDS the run from the nest to the water to establish where it needs to return to to lay her own eggs.

People who can't let nature do it's thing drive me absolutely nuts. I'd report her to your state wildlife department, but that's just me.

If it is a sea turtle (flipper-like front legs), PLEASE release it ASAP. These are almost impossible for the average person to keep healthy at home, and in most places, it is illegal to catch or harass them.

This is one of the few species of turtle you will not find ANY home-care info for on-line for these reasons.

Yes, a fish COULD eat it, but it will surely die at home, and a good number of these little guys get past the fish every year.

If it is not a sea turtle, releasing it is still the best idea.

No no! It will die. Plus sea turtles are highly illegal to own. Just about all sea turtles are on the endangered species list. Even if she thinks it will get eaten by a fish, it will have a better chance than in her house. Sea turtles require open seas and salt water. Please tell her to let it go.
