Is this a human medication? If so I would say no, take him to the vet and get some proper medication. I assume 'faecal nightmare' is diarrhoea? You need to find out the cause of this rather than just treat the symptom, so get you friend to get him checked at the vets, particularly if this has been going on for more than 48 hours.

p.s the first answer is a prime example of why no one should turn to Yahoo Answers for medical advice. FRIED CHICKEN?

No,...what you should do is take away food for 24hrs. It will help give his G.I. system a jump start. Then take him to a vet. He might be dehydrated (giving pediolyte won't help if he is truly dehydrated) or he might just need some medications to firm up is stool and a bland diet. Your vet will probably prescribe a diet called i/d made by Hill's. This will be the best thing for you and your friend's dog.

I'm not sure about colonix but I know from past experiance that pediolite will help if it is dehidration. Try that. If that doesn't work call a vet.
