My Russian Tortoise had diarrhea today and I was wondering what caused it. She has a well-varied diet, including lots of greens. On occasion, she gets a small bit of fruit, and every once in a while, she receives a bit of baby food meat.

I gave her a little bit of chicken baby food the other day for the first time in a couple of months, then continued with greens the next couple of days. Last night she had a very loose stool, and today she had diarrhea. Could the long absence of meat caused her to have a diuretic reaction to the meat once she had it again in her diet?

The hygrometer is currently saying its 60%, but I was told by a vet that it should really be 70% onwards. So Im nearly there - whats the best way to get it more humid? Thanks.

Ok, i have done some research and everywhere online seems to perfer f/t feeding of rodents, but they never really specify why... I guess why questions are... what if reptiles wont take them unless they are live? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each method? Who here does which method? In honesty, excluding rumors, who actually has witnessed a feeder mouse fight back and injure an animal?

Using an X-acto knife, which i was told was basically the same as a box cutter, was impossible but maybe it was just a little dull? Anyone here tried this?

Alright so I'm extremely interested in getting a captive bred ball python and was wondering a few things.

1. Most important, where can I buy one? I've heard that I can go to generic places such as Petsmart and Petco but that they don't take great care of the snakes in the first place. True?
2. How hard is it to find a place online that will sell me the food I will need?
3. Can I just buy and use any fish tank? Or is there something specific?
4.Around how much will it cost me to buy the snake, the aquarium, the accessories and anything else that I might end up needing?

Any suggestions or advice you're willing to share?
