I have 2 is that enough or should I have more?

It's good for a hermit crab to have a buddy, but it's also good to know the limits of your tank. Unless you live where the outside conditions are humid and warm enough, you must keep them in an enclosed tank.
Also keep in mind that if you have purple pinchers that they will grow so if you get a bunch of little ones you may need a bigger tank in the future.
That being said, hermit crabs DEFINITELY need a buddy!

two as a minimum, and a 10 gallon tank as a minimum as well.
however, I would strongly recommend getting a 20 gallon tank and about 5 hermit crabs (land hermit crabs I'm talking about)

I would get one more because my hermit crabs liked to have a little company.Make sure that you have allot of shells so they can switch their shells whenever they grow.

Two is enough, but you can get more, they don't really care if you do or not, just make sure you don't get a large one that will pick on the others. Try to get ones that get along with the two you already have.

ahhhhhhhhh--------they are such DELIGHTFUL creatures------some folks believe you should have 5 or more but that depends on the size of the containder-----if i ever get them again----I'll go to a yard sale and get one of those plastic swimming pools and set it up in the living room on a picnic table-------and create some diverse and healthy spaces for them-----a castle to climb---etc-------get however many you can handle---I had two aquariums back when I was 9 years old with them-------cannot remember why i got rid of them now---hmmmmm they were great!--------HEY-----there are several GREAT web sites devoted especially to land hermit crabs and you can learn and learn and learn--to keep them in real good health it reuires lots of knowledge but well worth it----I was recently studying them myself---------they recommend salt but please remember NO TABLE SALT-----regular plain old table salt burns them and can cause great damage.--------so much to learn----but ---FUN

depends on what kind you have? the land ones don't care how many you have and aqutic ones need to have enough room in your tank, i would get more for an aquatic tank, they scavange better
