there are ways around possible poisons in the rolly pollys take about 10 of them place them in a tank with dirt and rocks for them to get under. with in 12 weeks you will have an entirely new generation of rolly pollys. maybe shorter if a female is allready carrying eggs. remove the adults and do with as you see fit i.e. release back into the wild. remember how many you put in so you can remove the same number dont forget to count any dead adult ones.now you can start a breeding colony of your own its very easy, they eat dead plant material. if you are concerned about miscounting or anything of that nature just order a small batch online and you can use those instead. these little guys live around 2 years and breed like crazy. great food source but unfortunately you cannot guarantee the ones in your yard are poison free. with that long of a life span they can get pretty far from their home. i myself have no problem feeding my fire bellies pill bugs and neither does the california zoological society see the second website. neither does the Colorado Herpetological Society 3rd website.

Not many things eat these little creatures. Like mealworms, the hard chitinous shell can cause intestinal blockages if they eat too many.

However, any animal that will eat them certainly can. Just not too many a week, OK?

If the bugs came from the wild ( like in your backyard) it is not okay.
