his bed is in my closet, yet he gets up in the middle of the night and barks and scratches at the bed until i pull him up there with me (he's too fat to jump on the bed on his own), or if i'm still up, he'll sit next to the bed and stare at me with those eyes of his until i pick him up and put him in the bed with me. he even prefers to sleep under the blanket with his head on a pillow! how come he does this, and how can i get him used to sleeping on his own?

My two Winter White adult hamsters(both male, around 1 year old) are dropping fur all around the cage that they both share and I think they have some kind of illness. I planned to give them to a friend, but not in this condition. They were totally fine a few weeks ago. I need serious advice!!

On a beautiful spring morning a deliver man was making a home delivery to the front door of a customers home. In a blink of an eye out of nowhere comes running the meanest, scariest, ugly looking dog you ever saw and stood ground againt the frightened delivery man.The dog was free to roam no chain or leash.
The delivery guy stood there frozen not daring to make a move as the ferocious creature would not back off. Finally the delivery man
makes a getaway and runs as fast as his can back to his truck.

The creature chases him trying desperately to get him.The dog eventually bites at his ankles and knees as the delivery guy has to jump on the top of his truck to avoid being mauled. The confrotation continues on a public way where the truck is parked.
Finally relief comes when the owner bolts out of her house and restrains the monster ending this delivery nightmare.

The owner blames the delivery guy. The delivery guy blames the owner. Who is at fault? PS I was the delivery guy.

This will be the first time that I will be breeding my own stallion to my own mare, and I have decided that it is easier just to run them together. Bella foaled on 21/2/07, so she would have started to come into foal heat about last Friday, so I have had her in with the stallion since then.

She is very protective of her foal, so although she is frequently urinating and winking when Obi (stallion) is near her, he isn't able to cover her because she won't let him get close enough.

Will I have to cover her in hand, or will she eventually be receptive enough to not worry about her foal for a few minutes, and let the stallion do his job?

PS. I know it is very late in the season to be covering her, but she is a late foaler, and I don't want to give her a year off.

I have a 1-year-old Pekingese puppy, and would like to find another Pekingese for her to mate. I would like her to just have puppies once, then get her spayed. Would the owner of the other puppy expect me to pay them a certain amount of money for the puppies she will have? (Even though I will not plan to sell them, give them to people I know?)

my hammie harry is a budle of energy and fun but i was horrified yesterday to see one of his bottom teeth had snapped off! they are chizzled down nicely anyway as he chews on dog biscuites and wood etc and seems completley unfazed by it all,but he looks like a mini thug! he is eating and playing as normal. will it grow back again?

I know of some ways to keep rats away from the house like traps and poisons but are their any quicker way to keep them away? I am not sure if it is true that garlic and roses will be used to place in an area where there are rats.

I just found out my bunny (I inherited him 2 months ago) has very very bad, infected teeth. I love him, and don't want to put him in a bunch of pain unnecessarily just blindly following the vets advice. I'm torn between the invasive operation to remove the dead teeth, and the potential complications afterwards, and euthanizing him to save him the pain.

Has anyone had experience with rabbits with bad teeth? Have they recovered? How bad was your pets situation?

Thanks for any firsthand advice.

My life has changed since I visited a local animal refuge. I volunteered my time to rehabilitate wild animals and I loved it. I hope to work with animals as a career....I might want to be a vet tech...but I don't want to work with only dogs and cats...I want to work with exotic and local wildife creatures....
