On a beautiful spring morning a deliver man was making a home delivery to the front door of a customers home. In a blink of an eye out of nowhere comes running the meanest, scariest, ugly looking dog you ever saw and stood ground againt the frightened delivery man.The dog was free to roam no chain or leash.
The delivery guy stood there frozen not daring to make a move as the ferocious creature would not back off. Finally the delivery man
makes a getaway and runs as fast as his can back to his truck.

The creature chases him trying desperately to get him.The dog eventually bites at his ankles and knees as the delivery guy has to jump on the top of his truck to avoid being mauled. The confrotation continues on a public way where the truck is parked.
Finally relief comes when the owner bolts out of her house and restrains the monster ending this delivery nightmare.

The owner blames the delivery guy. The delivery guy blames the owner. Who is at fault? PS I was the delivery guy.

Well, first of all, it is NOT your responsibility to watch other peoples' canines. It is theirs. The owner of the dog is responsible for the behavior of her animals, whether they are tempermental or not. An owner has a legal responsibility to ensure that his/her pets are do not attack or intimidate people. If you were bitten by this dog, then you DO HAVE the LEGAL RIGHT to take the case to a civil hearing to argue the points against the owner. The owner many times may have to relinquish the dog for rabies testing, or possibly lose the dog altogether. Most of the time, fines are also implemented in these types of cases. Pet owners have a legal obligation to ensure theat the pets in their care do not attack people, and you as a victim have legal rights to ensure that this incident cannot happen again. Most of these laws are governed by your local municipality. Check with your local police department or sherriff's department. Hope that this helps. Later!

The owner would be responsible in my area. We have laws that all pets (dogs or cats) must be restrained to the owners property by leash or fence and not allowed to roam free. If that dog was able to get to you as you were making a delivery and you didn't go in thru a fence that had a sign stating *beware of dog* (which I'm assuming you didn't open up a gate and walk in) - then the owner would be responsible for your injuries if your area has such a law.
I hope you have checked into this so that someone else does not get hurt or worse in the future by this animal.

The owner is responsible. But the dog will still get put down because it will attack again. If it would have been a child it could have killed the child. It's sad because dogs are usually trained to be that way and the owner knows the disposition of the dog and should have restrained it.

No i've got not been in a matching concern as i might in no way anticipate that all of us knocking on my door might prefer to come again head to head with my canines once I answer the door. on the tip of the day a transport guy is doing you a favour in turning on your products on your door and that they have each and every good to be risk-free against a canines bite. He replace into unlikely previous a fence to a lower back area the place the canines replace into saved. He replace into in trouble-free terms knocking on your front door. actuality is that once somebody knocks on the door then the canines could be positioned at the back of yet another door or experienced so properly that he will take a seat lower back removed from the door and not flow off of the spot. those are the only 2 thoughts. i might anticipate which you will obtain a letter from the business enterprise and that they might probable refuse to grant to any extent further products to you.

I think your story is so scary. It's one of my fears, what happened to you. The owner is responsible for the dog. I'd call the police.
