my hammie harry is a budle of energy and fun but i was horrified yesterday to see one of his bottom teeth had snapped off! they are chizzled down nicely anyway as he chews on dog biscuites and wood etc and seems completley unfazed by it all,but he looks like a mini thug! he is eating and playing as normal. will it grow back again?

I would suspect this isnt a problem.. Like most rodents his teeth regenerate and continue to grow (unlike humans).. Rabbits Squirrels mice rats teeth all continue to grow and regenerate (so do horses believe it or not.. people that have horses actually pay to have them filed down on ocassion).. If you have a rodent for a pet its actually kindda important to have things for then to chew so thier teeth can wear down in fact..
I just wanna know why you chose to name yer hamster after me.. Harry is my birth name LOL i dont use it hardly at all anymore)

Sorry this is off topic but horse people pay to have sharp hooks from uneven wear filed down. Not their teeth in general. Horses teeth grow very slowly while rodents teeth grow quickly to the point that they can get too long. Anyhow every one's right that your hammie's fine and will look normal in a while.

Good news! Hamsters' (like all rodents) front teeth (the incisors) throughout their lives, in a similar fashion to the way our fingernails keep growing. They actually grind them down as time goes on. So, while Harry may have bitten off more than he can chew this time, his teeth should grow back to their non-thug look.
