Other - Pets - December 2006

We have mice as pets & originally had 1 mouse named Jez (who we think is the father of another mouse with a problem...Blackbum) who would constantly scratch, especially his ears. We came to the conclusion, after talking to pet stores as well reading books & stuff online, that it was an allergy to corn. Jez has passed on & his daughter, 1 of the last of his kids to survive, has been scratching the same as him ... They are the same black & white coloring, however there is also another mouse (Blackbums' sister) that is pure black & does not have any symptoms. Blackbum has scratched her ears so much that she has 1 ear that has a hole right through it & the other is looking like it will start getting a hole soon as well.
Does anybody know what could be causing this & if there is anything that can help it?
Please don't suggest taking it to the vet as we can't afford it at this present time. We are looking for anything that could help.. we hate seeing her suffer like this.

Looking for a poison to kill house 'field' mice, but will not be harmful to parakeets/cockatiels and dogs. Does anyone know if such a product is available or perhaps a home made remedy ? Thanks,

does anyone here agree with the fact of killing animals just for their fur to make a coat? i think it should be banned and the people who wanna have an innocent animal killed to have it wrapped around your arms....why. just get fake fur!!

My guinea pig does not like to play at all! I'm 13 and I love animals; so I would like to play with my guinea pig before I am busy with high school! at some time in the future I want to have a couple of horses.I have narrowed my search to these breeds now I am seeking information on their personalities. If some one can explain some o the differences between the breed.I'd much appreciate it.From what I have read so far,The Akhal Teke has the most appeal because of their devotion, I like the fact that the Lusitano is always descrbied as noble , calm and kind, and Andulsians are described as again very kind and sensitive, which I like. I should stress loyalty, sensitivity and calm natures would be critical in my determining which breed to ultimately go with. Thank you all ever so much.

i put my hamster bk in his cage after playing and he was fine boucing around being normal i got up in the moring he looked asleep went to school came home and he was in a werid positon i picked him up he was all floppy his belly and head was wet and all sawdust around her i think bottel leaked any way he was all floppy and not moving barley breathing i tryed everything every so often he moved but after an hour he was opening her mouth very wide and making a strange sound a lil dribble of blood came out her bum she stop making that noise she made it agen the was breathing very heavely she stoped and died any 1 no y ???
