When it starts to hop to you, call its name over and over and give it a treat.

Yes, the same way other animals are trained, with food treats.
I can go out in the morning and there are no cottontails. I can
call and within a minute or two there will be anywhere from seven
to ten cottontails around. In addition, about four chipmunks or more,
and, "Roadie," my ever constant roadrunner, who will follow me around
just for the heck of it. Unlike the rabbits and the chipmunks, Roadie will hold a conversation with me-- or his version of one.

And, the wild cottontails will come into the house, as will the chipmunks- which we call antelope squirrels out here- and Roadie. The cottontails will
often follow me around without my even calling. But, I do talk to them.

no, you cannot train a rabbit to come when you call it. But if you can do the same it will be a miracle. You can call it only one way by showing the food it likes.

I had a rabbit for years! She rode in the back of the car, was litter trained and came when I called her! She was just like a cat. If you let her loose in you house watch your wires, rabbits love to eat them.

yes, everyone is right. It has taken me months but my rabbit will come once in a while when called. I love it now because i dont have to have a treat. I love the he sometimes follows me around like a cat or dog. but it has taken me talking to him caressing him and paying alot of attention to him..
best of Luck.... YOU can do it. Treats and fresh fruit are the key!!

I think you can train them to be more likely to come to you whne you call, but don't expect it to come every time you call to it. They tend to have a mind of thier own.

Just stick to rewards. Everytime he comes to you when you call, give him a little treat. He'll associate coming to you with food, and will be more likely to follow your command.
