I have a 25+ Arab mare who foundered last June due to lack of activity (and a big weight gain!). She had a rotation of 10 left hoof, 11 right hoof on her front hooves and but has shown improvement in her xrays from the past 6 months of 3 degrees (7 left, 8 right). My vet says she can be only hand walked and to aim for an overall improvement of at least halfway to a rotation of 4 to 5 degrees. Does this mean she will never have a zero rotation and therefore never be completely sound? Can she be walked safely under saddle on soft indoor arena footing? Or, can she be lunged at a slow trot?
Other details: She is used as a family pleasure / trail horse, no hard work. We got the extra weight off her. The inflamation is under control and she is on daily turnout w/o meds. She is comfortable walking and can make tight turns. Vet also recommended .05 ml of ACE 2x day to increase hoof circulation and faster re-growth of the hoof. She has pads on her front hooves.

My two hamsters just had babies. I didn't discover the babies until I went to clean out the cage. Should I put the father back in the same cage with the mother and babies or will he harm them?

I see a lot of people on here asking how long they have to wait before they can take their puppy home or what to feed their pet or(my personal favorite) if cats can see through walls. If you don't know simple things like that maybe you shouldn't have an animal. It makes me so angry when people get an animal and can't/don't take care of it.

I have a very big black lab/ great dane mix. He is just a teddy bear and I want him to be in the house... especially now that it is cold out. The problem is that he stinks sooo bad. I have bathed him so much and the vet gave us drops for his ears... Nothing seems to help.

A week ago i read the book about the civil trial of o.j simpson, where they found him guilty of murder. Then i gave my opionion of it here.I didn't call o.j the n word just said i thought he was guilty as sin.A week later yahoo.deactivated my i.d? Some freedom of speech in this country! People make jokes about the president and other vip's,but if anybody takes about a black person, good or bad
that are labeled a racist,or taken to court and sued! I said it before and i will say it again 0.j did it and is a free murderer. Then he got the nerve to write a book about how he would have done it.Instead of looking for his wifes murderer?(he would not have to look further then his fat nose) GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I want a small animal because my gerbil died. I don't want a fish, don't want another gerbil, and it can't be bigger than a bunny. I am responsible and I will buy the animal at a no kill shelter.

My sister has 2 female dwarf hamsters that are about 5 months old. She bought them both in October. They have been fine but I was wondering what I can do because one is very timid, the other (who climbed out of the box we were keeping them in while cleaning their tank and fell) is a bit more aggressive and my sister is afraid she'll bite and so she doesn't hold that one as much. Me and my own hamster ar efine but I am worried about my sisters.' Sometimes the aggressive one, named Nutmeg, will just kind of push the timid one, Gertrude, off the wheel and claim it herself or hog the food. Is there something that I should be concerned with? They've known each other for a while now, but is this going to lead to something serious (like, will we have to separate them)? If so, like separation-wise, who would we give Nutmeg to? Am i just paranoid???!

My hamster's cage will get smelly, and my hamster will start to smell just like it. However, when I clean the cage, my hamster will continue to smell. How can you prevent this?

Trying to do the right thing. My tshi szu mix got his first two sets of shots on time. The third set was about three weeks late. We are about three weeks late for this set. I absolutely cannot afford the shots. the last time I took him the vet chastised me for being late. I explained the financial situation and instead of helping me to make arrangements, he told the tech that I would have to pay for the next office visit (I got him from a store and for the amount I paid for him the first three office visits were covered) I wanted to go to a different vet but they want his shot records. I can't afford to pay the fee for a copy of the records and then go pay for a new office visit and the shots. I'm trying to do the right thing by having my pet vaccinated but why must they make it so difficult for us. I've concluded that the original vet is an *** and I don't want to give him my money to attack and insult me.
Should we start over with a new vet? Should I skip the last set?

Greetings! I adopted a kitty in Cairo, Egypt about eight months ago. She is a former street kitty, so even though she's very sweet she's also extremely skittish and easily frightened. The flight, all told, will last about 32 hours- 16 in the air, and 16 in layover. Unfortunately, I cannot change the ticket because it was purchased by a third party. I was just wondering if anybody has any advice!!!
