I totally agree. I just try to stay on here and answer questions to help the innocent animals out. We can't stop the problem, we can only try to help fix it one moron at a time.

I agree that it is frustrating when people do not take proper care of their pets. But I think the reason they keep insisting on getting pets is because they want the love and attention that pets bring. Everyone who has had a pet knows how special it is to have an animal love you. But unfortunately, some people don't treat them well. While sometimes it is plain cruelty, I think that mainly it is lack of education and experience. Help out those who need answers. And remember, that everyone has to start somewhere. I'm sure all of us didn't know much about certain pets at one point.

I think the most recent one that made me go "what the bloody ****?!" was some girl saying she'd been given a burmese python (I don't remember the exact length, but it was over 1.5 metres) the other day, and what should she feed it and how often. I mean... What the hell?! Before I got my first gerbil I spent an hour at the library reading all the care books they had, and I was about 8. How can you be so stupid as to get a pet and not know what to feed it?

I work in the animal industry, i am a breeder of reptiles and exotic animals, also i run the local petsmart, and i would like to say, there are some extreamly stupid people out there, the reason that most people get animals that they have no idea how to take care of them is becasue it is a impule purchase "look at it...oooohhhh.... i need one.." this is something that is learned from a young age and is brought about by TV adds, and so forth...you need one you cant live without one....now go get one, this mentality is transfered into our every day lives to some extent and some people are just more prone to it than others, they see something neat, pretty/cute/small/cheap and have to get it because they have the money, or the means to aquire the money at the moment. its simply human nature....now in days anyways...

by way of fact human beings do it spontaniously, they do no longer think of approximately how lots diverse it actual is from a dogs, how lots extra care is needed, the undeniable fact that if the content cloth is only too severe it might desire to be unlawful. Alot of human beings like wolves or think of they seem cool and only asume it may well be no diverse than possessing a dogs, besides the fact that this isn't any longer the case. If no longer raised superb it particularly is risky, to no longer point out the consistent difficult. Its additionally no longer risk-free for organic wolves in the wild, if wolf-canines are released into the wild by way of fact the owner won't have the ability to look after it, if it have been to reproduce it might cut decrease back the organic wolves in the wild. And god knows we already are understanding of the captivating wild wolves. Wolves are captivating...while they're loose, i would not have it any opposite direction :)

everyone thinks they need an animal the sad thing is most people who don't know anything and get a pet are the ones who neglect it or make it a "killer"
I agree people should at least know the basics before they get a pet
I have a toy poodle and I got him when I was 10 before I got him I did a report for school about dogs and knew his breed's temperment and knew more than just the basics and I was ONLY 10... adults should educuate themselves like I did

Trust me, I get my own friends, calling me at all hours of the day, asking if it's ok to feed their puppy/rat/etc this or that. If something the animal is doing, is something to be concerned about. I even had one friend, who I had to teach, on how to take care of a goldfish. I'm a magnet for the clueless.

I know what you mean . . . what kind of dummy would bother to get a cat and take care of it if they didn't really think it could see through walls. And people who don't know the difference between dog food, cat food and puppy chow; good heavens, it's right on the label!

Agreed! People, PLEASE do some research BEFORE you get a pet! It's a living, breathing being that needs proper care and attention. And while we're at it, this is not the place to get an answer for "My bird is bleeding, biting herself and pulling her feathers out. I need answers fast!" That's what the vet is for! Your animal could die while you're waiting for a good answer here. Jeez!!!
