umm i used the jungle ick remover in a septrate container and it turnd the water blu i read the box and it said nothing about the color it just said may stain silicon in tank

Right now, I have one female betta and I'm trying to find the right aquarium for her. I need something on the smaller side (no more than 6 gallons) and I'd prefer to buy an aquarium kit since I'm not very knowledgeable yet.

I've looked at the Eclipse System 3 and also System 6 and I like both, but neither include a heater. I realize I could just buy one separately, but is it possible to put it in since they already include the hood, specifically for that tank?

Also, is the flow rate for each tank suitable for bettas (3 gallon=35 GPH and 6 gallon=75 GPH)? I know they don't like a lot of water movement. Eventually I think I will add a few more fish (depending on which size I get) but right now my concern is that it is good for my betta.

If you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them =)

I have 2 siamese fighting fish they share a tank but are in separate sections. In the last week they have started to look under the weather and are slowly turning white and losing their colour. Does anyone know what I can do to save them or why this is happening?

I have only had my female platy for about a week. Today she has been hanging out at the bottom of the tank, or she hides underneath the cave ornament. She looks like she is breathing heavy and she has a dark spot behind her anal fin, but it is kind of red. I put a medication tablet in the tank that is suppose to destroy any external or internal diseases and/or parasites. But, her belly looks pretty big. Is she sick or really pregnant?

One of my other fish that was in the same tank died last night. Could she have gotten something from the other sick fish?

Okay they will be male and female.. and have seperate tanks.. I think I will breed.. I have researched it enought to know what to do.. now I only need experience.. I have a breedig place.. (atisons suggested any large container so a large bucket (10-15 gallons i think) would be okay i think?) But I need homemade foods I can feed the fry.. So far boiled egg yolks.. powdered flakes.. infusoria.. and when old enough broken up blood worms.. anything else beside microworms.. I personally dont think I will be able to buy or culture anything besides infusoria.

My pH is about 7.8. I heard they need slightly acidic water. Can they adapt to more alkaline water? Or should I try mucking with the pH level?

My betta has what I believe is fin rot. I have been thinking that maybe he needs to be put out of his misery but a previous question here about how to humanely kill a fish got me really thinking about it.

My fish has been treated, and I went thru this once b4 with another betta who went 3 wks like this, pulled out of it for a month but not very well, only to go back into being sick again & died.

My current betta is listless, right now is attempting to float almost upside down, but has been this way for days.

I'm really torn between giving him a chance & putting him out of his misery. What would you do? (and please NO sick jokes)

My Angel fish has been attacked and 1/2 eaten my baby crawfish. He is missing his tail and 1/3 of his body is cut up. He will not live like this and I'm sure he is in pain. What's the quickest way for him to die? I read about clove oil and vodka, but it is 9:45 at night and no stores will be open where I can purchase clove oil. I need to do this immediately.

And yes, I know the crawfish needs his own tank now.

i need a puffer that will do well in a 10 gallon and that can survive with aqaurium salt if needed. it would be in the 10 gall alone. are drawfs all i can have? if so how many?

i want one so bad and i made up a tank just for him and let it cycle. i found a store that had them and when i got there the guy asked me if i had fresh or brackish i told him fresh. he said i couldnt get it because it needed brackish and it had to be set up. i knew it was supose to be brackish but i had read on here that no salt was needed and i could put him in fresh. the guy walked away and i dont know what kind of salt to get instant ocean or reef crystals or what. and i dont know how much to use. i guess i should have researched even further than thw 26 pages i already read on them. any help. i want him so bad. also i was told i could have more than one. i always thought i couldnt. help!!!!???

My LFS has some box fish and pyramid fish. I was wanting to research them and I can't find any info on either. I can find pics of the box fish, but every search I do for the pyramid fish only turns up butterfly pyramid angelfish.

I'm looking for the little fish that are shaped like a pyramid. And the box fish that look like this:

I just realized, whenever I have been arranging things in the aquarium, I will dry my hand on the kitchen towel, and let it sit on the counter top. I also use my mouth to start syphoning the gravel vac. Should I use hand sanitizer after feeding the fish, and make sure no one touches any stray drops of water?

I have in my tank what appear to be VERY tiny jellyfish that are peach colored. They puff in and out like jellyfish, and swim like jellyfish; but do not have the tenticles that jellyfish do. Are these a form of feather duster worms or something else?

I have a 55 gallon tropical community tank. My Pleco sucker fish got HUGE! But all he does is stay in one of the ornaments. So, I want to transfer him to my 40 gallon tank with 2 goldfish to get to work in there. Both have filters, heaters and I do 20% water changes frequently. Will he be stressed or have any problems if I occassionally switch him from the two tanks?Thanks!

ive had a big angle fish anour 2inch from top to bottom(if thats big) and witha algae eater(the one thats starts witha p thats hard to spell rofl) 2 snails about 1in each and a shrimp and a black bolly all in a 10gal tank i had a filter and everything but it died (but right befor it died i had just put a dragon fish in and it was acting strange it was swimming realyfast to the surface then just floating down) then about 2 weeks l8er i got a 1in angel fish with the same fish and it died it lookd like its fin was hurt cause it just swam in circles so... what happnd? is it not related at all or is it connected?

Can I use the daylight bulbs that most hardware store sell for my fish tank? I'm planning to buy those spiral compact fluorescent bulbs. Anybody had any experience with them? Will 3 15-watt CFL + one 15-watt fluorescent lamp (long ones) be enough for my planted 15 gallon tank?

I have a large angle fish (3-3 1/2 in.) in a 10 gallon tank. I used to have 4 neons in the tank while setting it up, and my angle fish seems to like to eat them. I was wondering about some suggestions of other fish that I could add to this tank without my angle fish having a feast of live fish. Thank you in advance for your help.
