Lots of people successfully keep male and female bettas in divided tanks within sight of each other.
Before you go out and waste money on a different divider, try testing your water parameters. If there are ammonia and/or nitrites of any level in the tank, that is why your bettas are dying. You need to do frequent partial water changes and avoid overfeeding them until the tank is free of ammonia and nitrites, and then do regular water changes (weekly or so) to keep the nitrates from building to unhealthy levels.

I have two male bettas who have shared the same tank for over two weeks, and haven't changed color or shown signs of stress. Hmmm, are they looking like they have a dull color? Try switching the food, give them some brine shrimp, or blood worms. Or try the Betta Min by Tetra. And if that doesn't help, I'd definitely separate them.

My female betta was really pale for a day and a half, and she died last night. If they are swimming on the bottom of the tank, and are breathing fast, their outcome does not look good. I also had my female betta in the same tank as my male betta with a divider, but I think she may have been filled with too many eggs, and it may affected something internally. Mostly, it was probably the stress from sharing the tank with a male betta. I would seperate them as soon as possible.

Assuming they can see each other, I would completely agree with the first answerer, stress. If at all possible, replace a clear divider with something that the fish can not see through. Constant exposure to another male will cause very serious stress problems.

Assuming they are both males, I would put them out of sight of each other.
They are probably getting exhausted flaring up and posing aggressively at each other.
Then check the water, you should do partial water changes every so often. Make sure that you only use water that has been conditioned (removal of chlorine e.t.c).

Thk they are dying, sorry pal.
Maybe you can try to change the water and feed them with better food. Even if that didn't save them, at least they can have some good meals before they say 'good-bye'

Sounds like they have a condition called "ick" or something close to that. You can buy medicine at the pet store for them. Look up Bettas on the Internet & you will easily find it. It is a very common disease that Bettas get.
