Your fish are most likely dying because of their water conditions. A new tank should be cycled with a fi;ter for atleast one week before adding fish. Tap water has too many toxins in it so a water condition should be added to remove any harmful chemicals. Or you can use already purified water but that can be expensive depending on how many gallons your tank is. In your case I would take a sample of your water to a pet store and see if they will test it for you. You should invest in buying a water testing kit to use at home for weekly test. At the pet store you can buy a solution to add to the tank that will make the water safe. If it's too late and your fish don't make it then wait to buy anymore. Treat the water in your tank and buy a product called "cycle" that will help promote good bacteria in your aquarium. Wait 7 days testing the water to make sure the levels are stable and then add more fish. Once you get the tank stabilized it should be smooth sailing. Just educate yourself better by purchasing books on aquarium care and fish information. Every couple weeks you'll want to do a partial water change and and remove half of the tank water and replace it with new to keep the water clean. Once a month you should empty and add all fresh water. Good luck:)
