those plant bulbs at walmart that you put in your tank and they grow?
my friend has one in a 55 gal and it grew huge and made lily pads in just a few weeks.

i bought some for the lily pads and the other kind they have. if they are the brown hairy bulbs do i put them in the gravel, or just let the fall to the bottom of my tank?

iv had my tank for about 2 weeks now and its still going through its cycle, all of a sudden the water has gone all cloudy and i was told this is a good thing because it means my cycle is nearly over, anyway, just as i saw my cloudy water i cleaned my filter and %20 of the water, i cleaned the filter in the %20 water i took out, i just wanted to find out if this was a bad thing to do and how much longer do u think it will take for my tank to mature?

Hi,

I have been cycling my tank for about a week and abit and the only thing that is not normal is my Nitrate. My ph is 8.2, Ammonia is 0, Nitrite is 0, but my Nitrate is at 20 when it is suppose to be at near 0. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how do I fix the Nitrate level?

what the hell is going on with him is he sick? i worry about him he is staying at the bottom of the tank not really eating at all i got a betta fish from a friend of a friend lol i gave him all treated water and a few days later hes acting strange... is it new tank syndrome? i am going to take him to petco and see whats wrong i just want to you what you dudes think he maybe a year old i named him legend becuz his name was leagen or something so i renamed him :)

my little brother one one from the funfair and my lil sister got one for free how do we look after them atm we have no fish food and no fish bowl its night time

we have put them in a big bowl for the moment untill we can get a fish tank

should we feed them anything untill we get the fish food

okay so i got my first fish yesterday from PetCo. i didnt really know what i was picking so i got this nice blue betta fish (male). when i brought it home i put it in the bowl that i bought fo rit. its a glass bowl about the size of a basketball and i put blue marbles on the bottom. its really pretty anyways.. i noticed that it had two small pencil dot sized holes on its tail. and when i looked closer, i noticed there was this gray lump on its top fin. but the fish is really active and eats very well. i gave it 4 pellets in the morning and 4 at night. and it's really responsive. the temperature of the water is about 69 or 70 degrees. its kinda low but my room is cold and there isnt anything i can do about that. i think that the gray lump and the holes were there when i first got it but im not sure. any suggestions on what they are?

It isnt ick because the rest are fine ive had her about 6 months and she just seems to be loosing color she was bright orange now the color just looks to be drained from her body... she is swimming around fine... and eats good still... and not spots her whole body but tip of tail is now almost albino white looking.,.. should i be concerned... or is she gettin old she is about 2-3 in long so i think shes getting older...

Also as a side note i have alot guppies and thier tails are shreded i bought them from pet store not long ago like that how it best way to fix thier tails to look pretty again??

I need more live plants where best place online to get them?

I am wondering. How often do you clean out the fish tank and replace the rocks on the bottom. I cleaned out the fish tank and put new rocks on the bottom. I use to have goldfish years ago and I can't remember how I did it. I did the usual things like you put in the water before putting fish in. I always had clean the rocks when I clean the fish tank. I was wondering and how often should I clean the fish tank. Thanks

I've had this same fishtank for about five months and the same fish have inhabited it.. there has been no change in water pH and I haven't added any chemicals.. the only change is that one of my mollies had babies but until now everyone got along fine! Suddenly one of my guppies has had his tail chewed off! I have no idea which of my fish could have done this because I didn't see it.. they've always been fine together so I never thought to supervise more than just the feedings and water changes (and the occasional peek into the aquarium just to watch my beautiful fish!)

In this ten gallon tank, i have:
1 plecosomus
1 catfish
2 male guppies
2 female guppies
1 female molly
1 male molly
6 baby mollies of unknown gender
and
1 white fantail goldfish

Would any of these fish be aggressive towards my other fish? The petstore said they were all community fish and should live well together! Apparentally not...

Should I have removed my injured guppy? (i did)

please help me!

Is there a cheaper way to get rid of chlorine and chloramine than buying dechlorinator from the petstore? I heard you could let it rest and the chlorine would evaporate but not the chloramine. Another way is to put the water in the sun but I don't know if it would evaporate the chloramine. What about boiling the water? Anybody knows any other ways that would get rid of both chemicals?

I have an extremely tiny two gallon tank that has two female bettas in it that like eachother. i have a ten gallon also that is cycling right now. i want to keep 3 corys the ten gallon with about 5-10 tetras. can i put my two female bettas in there too? their other tank just seems too small for them now that they're older and full size. how can i move them safely. i have a bunch of other small tanks that i can move them in that is use when i clean my tanks, should i just do that? will bettas, catfish and tetras be okay in a ten gallon? should i just keep my bettas in their own tank and possibly get a bigger one so that they have more room? they are fine in their two gallon tank, i just want them to be in a bigger one. i used to have tetras with my female betta before and now i m just wondering about the catfish.

I have tried the water changes, cleaning the gravel and stuff but it just seems not to be working.

I also tried Junlgle Clear Water but that didn't do it's job either.

So I was wondering if you know of any good products to make my aquarium less cloudy, I am going to Wal-Mart and maybe Petsmart today.

My tank is 10 gallons with mollies in it.

My tank is fairly new, but lately I have had it! I mean, the ammonia is high, the water is cloudy, etc etc. I do partial water changes nearly everyday, I added Clear Water formula stuff, I've vacuumed my gravel, I'm doing it all right but it isn't working! I love my tank, but it drives me nuts!

Can you share your stories about when you had times like this (and hopefully had good endings) =)

I was looking at my fish today and I saw my Leopard Danio. She/He at the end of its body- right before the tail (NOT its tail) that part is red on both sides of the body.. is this the beginning of fin or tail rot? I only have these medicines available to me if he does have it: MelaFix, Fungus Clear, Parasite Clear, Aquarium Salt (the fish i have are: 5 Black Skirt Tetras, 5 Flame Tetras, 2 Leopard Danios) - For the Aquarium salt i dont have another place to isolate the danio, and i cant catch him!! hes too fast for the net. I have a 29 gallon Freshwater tank. Thanks

i got a bottle of jungle clear water... does it really work? im going to use it in a couple of hours.. is there anything i need to do so the jungle clear water treatment can take out the odor of my tank? please list if it worked for you and if it didnt tell me what u did to make it work. thanks in advance
