As a child, I had a smalll translucent fish that I bought from the pet store. You could see its organs, and it resembled a goldfish. What is the proper, scientific name for this fish. First correct answer will be treated with ten points!

You have two possibilities here, the glass tetra (Chanda ranga), or the glass catfish (Kryptopterus bicirrhis):

A third possibility, the glassfish (Roeboides guatemalensis), is less transparent.

Im not familure with a translucent fish that was like a goldfish, but there are other clear skin fish. Ghost cats and Glass fish. They are brachis fish actualy and the glass fish are very sensitive and can get ich easily. use aquarium slat and make sure u have 5 or more.

im thinking of a glass fish sometimes injected with a dye, blue, yellow, pink, red florescent paint are used. Over time this paint fades and the fish become clear again. The proper scientific name is ( parambassis ranga ) brakish glassfish.

The common name is Glass fish,and I believe the the latin name is Chanda ranga,or Chanda baculis.

umm female bettas are usually like that. so probly cuz it was a female..i dont know
