I was looking at my fish today and I saw my Leopard Danio. She/He at the end of its body- right before the tail (NOT its tail) that part is red on both sides of the body.. is this the beginning of fin or tail rot? I only have these medicines available to me if he does have it: MelaFix, Fungus Clear, Parasite Clear, Aquarium Salt (the fish i have are: 5 Black Skirt Tetras, 5 Flame Tetras, 2 Leopard Danios) - For the Aquarium salt i dont have another place to isolate the danio, and i cant catch him!! hes too fast for the net. I have a 29 gallon Freshwater tank. Thanks

Could be septicemia also. I would use the melafix and see if that works. As always, I would also check your water quality and maybe do a partial water change.

Usually fin rot start at the end of the tail not on the base. I often had a hard time catching my fish. Get a small 2 gallon tank or bowl and catch him and put him there. I don't have a hospital tank for myself but I would often put them in one gallon tanks for the safety of my other fish.
