Please leave imput

heya, i have had my fish for a few days, they are goldfish , I have two of them and they are living in a 15litre tank, they seem to be Perfectly happy and are enjoying the environment i have made , basically just 2 plants and gravel, Although the water is some what cloudy , there isnt any other problems and the pet store lady said that will clear in around 3 days, I shall be performing 50% water changes around twice a week, Is this ok for my fish , Its just i havnt enough money to splash out ( how ironic) on a filter etc being just 15 years old in full time education, Also how long do you think my fish will live in this environment, They both seem happy and the fin on there back is up ( im aware that this means there happy), Any imput would be appreciated , Many thanks

I have 3 mollies that died from the nitrites that had gone wacko. The strange thing is, the guppies showed no signs of rising nitrites and were the same as they always were but the mollies just lay on the bottom and were dying. I did not know what to do. I have taken the remaining fish to a friend's house so i can get my tank sorted. How do i get rid of the nitrites with the tank empty???

Heya people, I baught a new tank from a pet store for my 2 goldfish Jay and Dorris lol, It came complete with two live plants and gravel, I cleaned the gravel to a good extent using a siv and my hands and i washed the plants well, Im not sure why it is STILL murky and cloudy but i cant imagine it is healthy for my fish, Please any idea's would be helpfull, I do not have a filter as i plan to change 25-40% of the water twice a week, I also do not have an air pump as i have the plants and they do not appear to require it despiratly , Many thanks p.s the tank is a 10 litre ( i think ) it is about 40cm length and 30 cm width by about 30 cm height thats just me estimating ? Thanks

My ryukin is trailing the other smaller one repeatedly. He'll stop occassionaly. He doesn't seem to be pursuing the other one intensely, but often enough for me to notice how much he's doing it. I just got them today.

He doesn't seem to be nipping at him, but I don't know how else to describe it other than he's 'sniffing' the other fish's anus. That's what it looks like. Is this bullying, is he just establishing a pecking order, or is this signs of breeding behavior?

What are the signs of an aggressive fish and bullying incase the behavior becomes escalated? Thanks :)

Hi,
I've had my male betta fish for about 7-6 months in a 5 gallon tank... He used to be active (swim around n all), he would also react to activity inside and out of his tank, eat well, etc. But lately hes been very lethargic. He doesn't swim around much, only stays in one place, his appetite has also decreased, I have tried new kinds of food but he doesn't seem to be interested. Could he be bored? Should I try introducing a new fish into the tank? How would a Black Moor do?
Pls reply. Thank you.

Why are siamese fighters kept in small containers? Mine is in our aquarium and he is always swimming around and when you see the ones kept in bowls they look so boring and sad. Is there a point to the small bowls or is it just cause people like to keep animals as ornaments?

I have three of the same fish. They'e small fish with blueish stripes on them. Well, one of them always stays under the rocks, it never comes out. The other two are always swimming out in the open but that one just stays under the rocks. The only time it comes out is when I feed them. Is this normal?

I just got a used Eclipse 12 gallon system, and I was told that I would need to prime the filter before I can use it, but I have no idea what that entails. Any information on how to prime the thing would be wonderful, thanks!
