YES!!! My fish just disapeared a few weeks ago. I checked under rocks and in the filter and she was a grown up fish so she couldn't have been eaten. I guess some fish just have a little button they press to become invisible. lol

Sadly,it sounds like a jumper, look very carefully around the outside of the tank. Small fish get really small when they dehydrate, and if they make it to the floor they can quickly become part of a "dust bunny", that doesn't look fish-like at all. Don't give up hope,if the parent fish could disappear for a day,the little guy may still be in there somewhere. Some species are excellent jumpers and can find their way out of the smallest openings,------Hoping for the best.--------PeeTee

Hay,
OK are any of your rocks cracked or brocken? or there holes in the rock they could be lost in? what you need to do is take all the rocks out one at a time and check for any cracks are holes if you do see one shake it or look inside and see if a fish or fish bones or in there c the fish could of gotton trapped in a rock and couldnt find its way out so it suffacates or dies of hunger if you cant find any holes then move your tank a little ways and look underneth it you could see a fish. What happened to me was I lost fish to and I couldnt find them anywhere one day we were cleaning out the rocks that had broken holes at the bottom I shake it and here rattling out comes fish bones! That was pretty scarey for me. and sad I dont mean to worry you but if a fish is dead it can contaminate your fish tank quickley so check as soon as possible! now yes Im serious your fish could of fallen out of the tank now I cant explain this because i dont know how! It happened to me twice though one was underthe tank for a year! Good luck I hoped that helped you im sorry if your fish is dead, i cried when i saw the bones and dead fish! i hope u find the reason!
Adios!

No he cannot disappear, but he may have been eaten by other fishes. Male fishes eat the youngsters when hungry. :p

He could have jumped. Went into the filter. Or died and gotten eaten. Catfish, sucker fish, and shrimp will happily eat dead fish.
