Hello,

I am planning a small fish tank and am looking for suggestions on the types of fish to get. Can I please get suggestions on fishes that will do well in this size tank and how many would do well? I am not a fan of the tetras and my understanding is that goldfish are too much work for a 5- 10 gallon tank.

Thanks

I think theres like a plague making its rounds in my fish tank....We had added new things to the tank about a month ago, but they have since died off...But ever since then, it seems like the fish either have pop eye, or white stuff on them which I figure is ich, but not sure of. Also, one of my fish - a tiger barb - I swear looks like it has hemmoroids!

We've tried those dissolving ich treatments, as well as the dissolving fungus treatments....And it really doesnt seem to be helping any.

Any suggestions??

Right now I have the undergravel filter set up with a couple inches of gravel on top. Then, I put a bit of sand on top of the gravel. I want this setup because I only really want to have water plants.

So, is this an okay setup? My other possibility is just getting rid of the gravel and undergravel filter and only going with sand.

Will the sand clog up the undergravel filter?

There is this ditch in our backyard and I scooped out some water and found these little bugs abot this at big as this star * they are round and black and move around a lot. I am freezing them now can I feed them to my betta?

ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION
-------------------------------------------------
The water in the tank is clear on the inside but a fish just died in there and I took it out. Now there is this greyish clearish film at the top with little bubbles. What is this? What can I do? The fish seems just fine. Will it hurt my betta?

10 gallon tank,3 neon tetras (been there for a week and a half), 1 decorative log that they can swim through, and some easter grass (recommended by pet store instead of live plants-dont know why, but Im leaving the easter grass-it worked for the platty's last time) for the fry to hide in. I understand they lay eggs. If I put the easter grass INSIDE the log..will they lay the eggs in there? Or should I just leave the clump of grass floating about as usual? When will they breed? What should I expect. I have 3-didn't plan on breeding..but Im pretty sure its gonna happen
