it's not even a gallon. no fish are suitable for it. if you really want fish get at least a 2.5 gallon tank, a mini heater (7.5watts), and a mini filter. that would be okay for 1 betta.
if you want more than one fish get at least a 10 gallon. if you decide to get a 10gallon feel free to email me and i'll help you decide on what type of fish and how many would be best for you.
my yahoo email is originalcatastrophequeen
and to the people who said goldfish... are you CRAZY?! or did you not see the size of the tank? that's not even a gallon, goldfish need a minimum for 10gallons each. 20gallons each to really be healthy.

I hate to say this but your tank is under 1 gallon given your dimensions. Once you add gravel you are around about 3/4 of a gallon, which I'm sorry to say, is too small for any fish. You could make a nice little shrimp tank with 1 or 2 ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp. Or maybe a snail tank with a few pond snails or trumpet snails.
Please do not get a goldfish, they are large fish that need large tanks.

That's a pretty small tank. First of all, rule out goldfish. Goldfish will not thrive in a small tank. They are a big tank fish, inspite of what you see in the stores.
You could to a pair of white clouds, they should be OK in a tank that small. Your other choice is a betta. They can survive in a small tank like that.

Maybe goldfish. They're are many interesting types of goldfish, like the chocolate colored ones. Do you have a heater and a filter hooked up? If so then, maybe some gourami's or molly's. Molly's have live babies so they are pretty cool. you will just have to get a bigger tank later probably. Just go to the pet store and look around and talk to the staff. they can help you out a lot. Good luck, fish can be really fun. If you are like me you will end up with a huge tank full of fish.

Kylie Anne and bleedseahawkblue have it right. With those dimensions, the only fish i can think of which might survive is a siamese fighting fish, but it'd need a heater.

First you should make sure the the kind of fish you get won't eat each other. You should get goldfish or a beta because you don't need to feed a beta everyday like regular fish. Goldfish are pretty in fish tanks. Also, beta don't do well with other beta.

don't get a fish....if you do, get a bigger tank i don't reccomend a tank that small, heres a rule of thumb, one gallon per fish, that thing is not a gallon of water. upgrade to a better tank before considering fish. would you want to be trapped in that small of an area? its like living in your closet forever.

If you're not going to have a filter in it, you can't get any tropical fish, so you're pretty limited to gold fish and beta fish....which with betas, you can only put one in the tank, otherwise they will fight.
