I have a 20g fresh water fish tank that contains Two gold speckled mollies,One 4 inch long pleco,One blue dwarf garoumi and Four neon tetra...along with a few snails here and there.lol
My tank water always seems to be green.the water tests ok,the tank is not over crowded.i do regular proper water changes,do not over feed and the fish do not seem to be stressed. The green tint looks bad even though the fish show no signs of stress and he water tests come ok good.
I have been keeping fish for quite a few years and have never come across this issue unless i skipped a few days on cleaning, acidentally over fed or there was organic material in the water...such as wood.
Now, none of those things are in play here, yet i have yucky green tinted water. What can i do to get te water clear? And what could be causing his?

we have a small pond in our backyard and we like to stock it with feeder fish in the spring. usally by winter about half are left (garter snakes eat some). I live in the mountains in Colorado and it gets VERY cold in the winter so last year i brought them inside so they wouldn't die when their water froze. This ended up being pretty counterproductive as they all died. I was blamed for a long time because I used a clean metal bucket that at one point held cleaning chemicals. This winter, my dad put them in a big glass fish bowl and like the last ones, they died about two days later. We're getting a water heater this year but I still don't understand why the last ones died. I think it was the temperature change, but I would assume in two days they would adapt. They could have been over crowded (12 in an about 2-3 gallon tank) but this situation is much better than at the pet store. They may have not been getting enough oxygen but I've had goldfish in a bowl with no bubble filter. THANKS!

There is 1 pond in our back yard. It contains all sorts of fish. It is very big and spacy and deep. Frogs and lizards and other water living animals are their. Some purchased some just came. Well we suffered an EXTREMELY cold winter and the pond to very bottom is frozen sold. I can walk on it and jump on it. It's about 6 or 7 feet deep. I can look and see plants and fish frozen in their tracks.Frogs and all. Is their something ANYTHING I can do? Are they dead? I am willing to spend up to 1000 dollars. I have become very attached to these creatures. I don't want them to die and me start all over.

P.S.:My backyard is a home for many different animals.

I just brought home a black moore goldfish from walmart yesterday(yes , i know walmart). In 24 hours his behavior has been kind of up and down. I prepared his bowl by setting it up and letting it sit for 2 days before i put him in. Since putting him in he appears to have formed a white film over his eyes and his eyes appear to have a reddish ring in them. Is this a response to stress, chemical imbalance in the water, or a disease? PLEASE HELP!

I'm worried that there is something wrong, it's been under there all day and won't come out even when It's feeding time. Could it be sick or something? I do have another guppy in the tank and it seems just fine.

What kind of fishes do you think would be most suitable for a classroom? My teacher doesn't want any Angel fish because they will eat all of the other fish. lol So I mean he wants a type of fish that will last long and they can't be any saltwater fish. So please give me your ideas! Thanks!

Hi, i am wondering if i am overfeeding my fish. How much exactly should i feed them? Please dont say "a pinch", i acutally want a specific number of flakes. Also, if i wanted to treat my fish with something tasier than usual , what is a good option and not too expensive? Thanks!!!!!

We have recently bought a new tropical fish tank and nothing seems to be going right! Initial tank set up seems to have been fine and we left at least a week before adding the fish, which we did gradually over a couple of weeks and added the neccessary treatments.

Firstly a few of our fish got whitespot, which we have been treating with the correct treatment (but not yet cleared). Also we have two lobsters, who have killed and eaten both of our silver sharks and 1 angelfish! (we are now giving them the correct food so hopefully this won't happen again... or as much!) and now another of our angelfish seems to be dying, he is almost motionless and lies at the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know what is wrong? it doesn't look to me like the filter is working effieciently & there tiny white bits and bits of plants floating everywhere! we are using a Juwel filter system. Please help!

At first he was fine. Eating and sucking on the glass. Then one day I found him laying on his back on the bottom so I thought he was dead. But he wasn't. He swam on his side like he was dizzy and landed on his back again. For over a week now, he's been like that although he doesn't move at all. The gold fish (2) swim by him and he just floats wherever they push him. But his mouth is still sucking all the time. How often are you supposed to add fresh water? I don't think we have in over 6 months but the fish seem fine.

Sorry this is gross. My betta fish had what seemed to be a tumor in his throat area. couple days ago the tumor exploded out of his side. It appears to be food... like maybe he had a blockage and the food got stuck in a pouch and swelled up with water.. Anyway he now has a hole in his side. Part of the "tumor" fell off and part of the tumor is still sticking out. I'm surprised he is still alive but he is. He hangs out in the corners of the tank and swims around a bit. Is there anything I can do for him? Has anyone heard of blockages in the digestive track? I had him for 6 months.. only fed him 3 sometimes 4 pellets 2 times a day so I don't think I overfed him. I feel so bad. Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated. In advance, thanks.
