i have 2 cherry tiger barbs [ i think thats what there called ], 2 black skirt tetras, 1 platty and 1 small little catfish. Can i get like 2-3 more small fish in there?

I'm new to fishkeeping. After a few days I setup my tank the white gravel and some accessories inside became brown in colour. Its like a layer of dust and i had to take off the stuff and clean with a brush to take it off.
Is this a problem or is it normal in freshwater tanks?
Pls help.

I have a 55 gal aquarium with about 9 different fish in it. I am moving 3 hours away and need to figure out the best way to transport my fish by car. Obviously, the aquarium is going to be drained and then re-filled once I reach my destination, so leaving them as they are is not an option. They are all freshwater fish including a paradise gourami, black moor, 2 danios, 2 rosy barbs, an alqae eater, a shubunkin, a koi, and an albino frog. What would you recommend?

I am thinking of buying some Piranha's to keep as pets. Is this a good idea?If it is please tell me what I can actually do with them and what I need to keep them. How much will the equipment cost (and the fish) and If it isn't please advise what pet to to get instead.

I have a 50 gallon fish tank which I am revitalizing. I only ever kept tetras in this tank. I would like to expand to other species so that I may have better variety. Can you give me some names of fish that have worked well for you?

Also...how many fish can you have in a 50-gallon tank?

I have heard that goldfish cannot be placed in a tank with fish other than goldfish because they secreet some type of fluid from their skin that is poisonous to other fish? This seems just too sci-fi to me...but nevertheless, is it true?

Also...how do you tell the difference between male and female guppies?

and how do I maintain that temperature? what about lighting? I am using a regular fish aquarium light. I leave the light on about 8 hour a day. Are flourescent lights better? thank you guys for answering.

I have 1 yellow a/c that looks beat up. I did see him and another doing something that looked like kissing. Is that bad or good? Were they fighting? Or it is a mating thing? I had 12 a/c in a 90 gal tank. It is well established. Had the h2o tested- fine.

All but two of my fish died in my 100 gal tank. I started out with like 7 or 8 of varying fresh water fish but they died from some sickness, they had like nasty ulcers on their mouths and bums. I want to know how and with what to clean the tank completely so that i can bring new fish and enjoy my tank... oh and what type of fish do you recommend for a fresh water tank, I'm tired of gold fish.

Discus Fries are 3 weeks old.
Parents are shaking them off their body.
Brime shrimp hatching and seperating them
from their egg shells are a pain.

I have a small 2 gallon tank (there were 2 cherry barbs and a snail). The tank was set up 3 weeks ago and was cycling when I identified the Ich.
The fish have died, the snail has not.
Should I do a complete water change and start again or continue with 25 - 50% water changes over a period of days to eliminate any of the ich remaining in the water or should I treat the water with Ich medication to kill it off and keep the integrity of the water?
I don't want to harm other fish before I have the water conditions perfect for new fishes.

My triops is 7 days old, on the 6th day it says I shoukd have started him on uncrushed pellets but he still cant seem to eat those. Why? And does anyone know why there is only one? I started with about 5 then one was doing fine but looked injured so he ate it. Now there's one but it says they can reproduce alone so why isn't he?
