Fortunately, Goldfish are resilient creatures and there is no reason why your fish shouldn't regrow its damaged fin even although it might not quite reach the length it was before.
The real problem with damaged fins is that the wound provides an excellent entry point for any secondary infection, and 'fin rot' is a case in point. However this comes about as a direct result of poor water conditions. As long as you carry out regular routine aquarium management - regular partial water changes, siphoning out detritus reasonably often, don't overfeed - then you should have no worries.

First, Is the aggressive fish still in the tank??? if it is get it out.
Left on there own, and if the fish is relatively healthy the fins will regrow. to help the fish along get some HIGH PROTEIN food from the pet store, there are also different medications that can help fins regrow. make sure you keep the tank as clean as possible and up the temperature a few degrees, ( this ups the fishes metabolism so they heal faster) but no higher than 76 degrees with gold fish. if this is a new injury keep an eye out for infection and treat it aw soon as possible ( if its Sunday and the stores are closed try adding 1/4 teaspoon of salt per 3 gallons of water. this will retard the growth of bacteria.) make sure to do a water change after you get the proper medicine though.
Hope this Helps.

sure, with very sparkling water, good food, perhaps a sprint drugs in case you have a quarantine tank. and of direction seperation from the fish that bit off the fins interior the 1st place. do not medicate all the fish to treatment one. The fish will in all probability recuperate without drugs if it gets each thing else,if it would not the meds won't help the two. good success. PeeTee

They will grow back, but you will get excellent results if you treat you tank with a product called Melafix. It is used for that purpose, and several other bacterial infections. It's available at Wal Mart for about $5.00. I've used it several times for different things, and I love it. It will also keep your fish from getting any secondary infections.
Good Luck!!

You should also Set up a medic tank and isolate the wounded fish. You may need to add medication to the water if compactions occur
