to make a long long story short, i have a cichlid that is suffering from ammonia poisioning--he is floating belly up and sometimes laying on bottom, still belly up. Is there any chance of recovery? he has been like this for 36 hours. I think he is floating this way because of the gases that are released in the body cavity as internal organs are destroyed by the poisioning, I may be way off, I hope so, is there any help for him???? He also seems to have fin rot, but thats really the least of my worries right now.

I have heard that neons are peacable fish! NOT so!
My neon is beating up my cardinal tetras and my danios. Why?
I bought him neons to school with - he killed them. I bought him cardinal tetras to school with - he goes after them with a vengence. I have a 10 gallon with him, 3 cardinal tetras and one last danio. HELP!
I even put him in a breeder tank for a while thinking he would lose some aggresion...no. I rearranged the plants to sedate him... no! He is such a jerk I want to flush him. lol.
Any tips are appreciated!

Also how often would i clean my tank and whats the proper water temp? Also I saw that they saif to not put male bettas together because they would fight..what about the females do they fight too or r they ok to put together? I was just wondering I just want the best home for my buddy..Rainbow.. :-)

I have 2 Perc clowns in a 20 gallon tank and am looking to add an anemone to the tank. I have about 10 lbs of live rock and a big white coral (I don’t think its alive but it was real when I bought it. I came in a plastic back from a marine shop). I do not have a protein skimmer and I currently have a standard florescent light with a little bit of a blue tint to it. I think it’s a 15w light. I have already put a ton of money into the tank and don’t really want to put more money into it for a few months. Is there any kind of cheap anemone that I could put in my tank and will my clownfish like it? What do they eat? Also I have heard that they can sting and have heard that they can cause death. Is that to humans or fish? If they sting humans, what happens? Can you touch them at all? Thanks

I got a Beta in a large vase. 2 days later I added a peace lily. He really took to it and was always up in the roots but usually squirmed away. A few days later I found him dead in the roots. Could I have overfed him in 5 days or was it too cold in the house (around 65 degrees)?

My light is a full spectrum flourescent, and I found the algae grows more quickly with the light on a lot. I don't know how long the light should be left on every day for the health of the fish. I have heard some people say not at all, and some say part of the day, and some say almost all of the day. I would like to hear your opinions...thanks

I have four small koi in a 3ft 120 litre tank. Two are about 15cm and the others 8cm. I would like to know which would be the best aquatic plants to put in the tank that they won't uproot from the gravel or eat within a week, or should i just stick with gravel only?

I'm trying to start up a 50 gallon reef tank and i'm not sure what kind of lighting i should use. I know that i don't want a hood and that i'm not really into most of the hard corals the brains and what not. I've been told to look at power compacts, but there are soooo many different one's with different light options such as moon lights, or acintic (i think it's how to spell it) etc., and different wattage and what not. any suggestions on the kinds of light (and strenght) and brands that are good? thanks.
