Angel fish and clown loaches together are fine. As are firemouths and clown loaches. But it is not advisable to keep firemouths and angels together as the firemouths are too boisterous for them. Remember too that clown loaches are a schoaling fish and need to be kept in a group of five (minimum).
PS, if you are thinking of keeping other fish, may I suggest you go to www.thinkfish.co.uk and go onto the community creator tab. It helps you to stock your tank correctly as well as identifying any compatibility problems.

Yes unsure as to what firemouths are, sorry.I do keep angel with clown loaches and a couple other loach breed and they get on well. But dont ever get smaller angel than the angel you already have as the big ones do generally nip at the smaller ones which does cause problems even death eventually i have found over the years.Hope this advice as been of some help!

Maybe. I have noticed a rather remarkable variance in the temperment of angelfish. Some don't care about who's around, some will attack most other fish, and I had one very big, beautiful angelfish that could only get along with a pleco, not even other angelfish.
I think you have a lower chance of success with firemouths.
I would say PROBABLY, but keep a close eye on them.
Make sure the loaches have a place to hide.

I wouldn't put clowns and angels with a firemouth. Ive had firemouth cichlids kill a jack dempsey and a smaller oscar.
Ive had a pair of clowns for 7 yrs, they are breeding pair, and are in a community tank, not with cichlids. I wouldn't even put angels with firemouths either. Larger angels are more able to stand up for themselves, but if you pay $20 for an angel, do you really want to risk a firemouth chewing it up? Good luck with that mix.

Yup, definitely, just know that the clown loaches will grow to 10 inches or more. It takes a while, but eventually they need very large tanks.
Firemouths are also pretty big, but usually non aggressive. Keep an eye on them of course, in case they take a disliking to each other, but it should be perfectly fine.

Whoever said that angelfish are brackish water must be mistaken. Angelfish come from South American, in the Amazon. Angelfish need completely freshwater to thrive. If you get wild specimens, then they prefer soft water with low pH and a temperature around 82*F. You don't get wild specimens easily, though, and I doubt you would get wild angelfish and not know how to take care of it. The tank-raised ones can be easily acclimated to almost any water conditions.
Clown loaches come from Asia (Borneo and Sumatra), but thrive in the same water conditions.
I wouldn't keep firemouth cichlids with angelfish, even though their water parameters match up quite well. They can be fast and aggressive.

Angel fish like brackish water and clown loaches like soft water. Different ends of the ph scale.. Not a good idea.......Keep the Clownies, get a red tailed shark as well!!! Clown loaches don't have scales as such, that is why they need softer water. Also Angels eat neons and others, not good for a community tank.

I have a tropical fish aquarium and i have pakistani loaches, angel fish, kissing fish and tetras. you can't keep some fish together for obvious reasons, but the fish you want should be ok. loaches are very dominant about their teritory, they're not nasty, just teritorial, and they like dark places. so the other fish should all have their own teritorys in no time at all, keeping themselves to themselves
