Sounds like you have an overcrowding problem. I can't presume to know what size your tank is, but to have a tank with sharks and plecos and 50 other fish, it would probably need to be in the 3-400 gallon range.

I would suggest doing a large water change and start rethinking the fish you have, and planning for something else a little more manageable. Fish are very hardy animals but they can't live forever in less than ideal situations.

Sounds like the end for Mr. Plecko. Sorry. I have NEVER, with the exception of ich, seen a visibly sick fish make a recovery, no matter what medicines you buy. If you have, great, but it doesn't sound good.

Have you changed the water recently? Any chance some chlorine got in there? Probably, though, your 50 other fish have more sensitive species then plecos though, which are usually pretty tough.

Unless we are talking neons or something, 50 fish probably require at least a 100 gallon tank or more. Maybe you are overcrowded.

My 1st guess is the main issue is you have 50 fish in your tank. Depending on the size of the fish we are talking 50-200 gallons being require for that many fish. This sounds like nitrate poisoning. Test your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels.

I agree with Zoe. Check your water, but mostly, it very well could be overcrowding. You need to have at the very least, about a 200 gallon tank to be having more than 50 fish. Even if it is something else, unless you already have at least a 200 gallon tank, you need to get one. These poor fish need room.

When was the last time you had the water tested? This sounds to me like a water chemistry issue.

You should have the water tested immediately for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates.

Also how often do you do your water changes and how big are they?

Finally how big is the tank. If you have at least 50 fish I hope that you have a 125 gallon tank or larger. Anything smaller and your tank is likely overstocked.
