I have two pink minnows.Yesterday, I noticed that one of them will only stay at the bottom of the tank and earlier today I found that same one stuck in the real plants that are in the tank. And my other one floats to the top of the tank, probably gasping for air because I feed them reguarly. And sometimes he floats on his side while trying to breathe. I just recently had a fish that I believe had swim bladder disease. Is this swim bladder diesease? and if it is, is there a cure or something that I could do to help?

It is on top of his head and on his fins. How much time do I have to help him or is he on his way out? I found him hanging out at the bottom of the tank and I just separated him from his tank and added that blue ick medicine. What should I buy from the pet store? Thank you so much in advance for your answers!

can female bettas live the same way as male bettas?

I know in isolation, the males build those bubble nests and can live in a little bowl even a plant vase, but can the females? Thanks for your input.

I have a juvenile Clown fish, I bought him 2 week ago. I am a little worried I've never seen a fish sleep upside down at the top of the tank. At first I thought he was dead but after I moved him he swam back to the bottom normally. He also swims on his side at the top of the tank. I help by moving him along to the bottm then he is allright, but at night he looks like he's dead. The salinity is fine, there is no amonia in the water the temperature is between 70-80 degrees the filter blows water pretty hard but no bubbles are produced ( I was told to many bubbles are bad for my sea-anemones). So what's wrong with my Nemo? My white tail Damsel is doing fine.

I just bought a 28 gallon tank. What are some good African Cichlids to get?

2007-01-12 19:00:30 · 6 answers · asked by Specialist McKay 4

I have 2 African Cichlids 1 Yellow Lab (which I believe is male) the other is Orange and I think is Female. + a few other fish.
I have to keep the Orange Cichlid separated in the tank because the Yellow Lab will go after it...(3 days ago the Yellow Lab, burtally attacked my BETA and it died).(Which I normally keep separated, but let it in with the other fish so I could clean its net, which I do once a week. by the time I finished cleaning the net all of the Betas Fins were bitten off)
Anyways. the Cichlids seemed to be doing ok, When the Orange one was hovering at the top of the tank in the corner.
I put it back in its area.
Yesterday, I noticed what looked like white flakes..or Shedding scales..
I figured it had gotten bitten and the bites were infected so I today I went and bought ICK medicine..
It seems to be ok...Oh and when I put it back in its area, it stopped hovering at the top and started swimming around in its area.
No other fish have White on their scales.

My fancy goldfish has been upside down and listed to the left for 2 weeks now. She might have injured herself by lying next to the pump. Her rt. side seems to be collapsing; looks like her ribs are starting to stick out of her skin. The fins in the rt. are useless. She cannot right herself. She is still eating, although often ejects the food and it takes me 20 minutes to make sure she keeps enough down. This fish is 4 years old with personality plus. She is adopted, and lived through years of fish hell before coming to us. She has been such a plucky little thing, but I don't know if she is suffering or not. She can't direct herself around the tank anymore because she only has fins on one side, so she just kind of stays in one place upside down all the time. Does anyone know how/if this can be fixed, or should I euthanize?
