i got given a heap of fish for my tropical freshwater tank but we dont no what they are. They look alot like gold fish but some have a long spear like tail underneath there normal tail. Some are grey but most are orange. I no they breed very easy. Does anyone no what it could be? or where i could find out?

Sounds like you are speaking of Swordtails. They have wonderful color, don't they?

Swordtails. Swordtails, mollies, guppies, and platies are livebearers and breed constantly. there are several color morphs on the swordtail. Orange and white (koi swordtail) red and yellow (pineapple swords) speckeled, black, red velvet, bright red, even some that are called "neon swords"

they are a long bodied fish. Males have a vey long, sword like bottom fin while the females have a rounded tail fin

Google topical fish atlas and search the data bases for the following:

Swordtails, guppies, platies, mollies, minnows, barbs.

Well, if this was a description of a dog I might think it was a rabbit as the description is not great. HOWEVER, if they breed easy and have sword tails the most likely answer is Platys.

It sounds like you are talking about swordtails. And they gray is actually classified as a green color.

I could be a range of lil fishies :P Try Swordfish or maybe even Angelfish. Sorry I couldn't really be of any help...
