There is fuzzy,lint-like stuff in my fresh water aquarium. It doesn't seem to bither the fish and they pick at it. I have only guppies and the tank has been set up for about 3 weeks now.

I've tried every thing, from ick away to parasite gaurd. Nothing seems to help. He is constanly scratching himself on the mountain in the middle of the tnk, or the filter. Th other fish, (a, algea eater) doesn't seem to have this proble, and I thought that maybe if only on of the fish were havng it, then it wasn't a parasite...Now i'm totally confused...Help?

Its not dead, but it floats at the surface almost all day, it has black spots on it and it looks like the skin under its stomach is peeling.

I always see things about Ryukin goldfish and other "special" types of goldfish. Why is it that a regular goldfish isn't included in shows and contests? My Calico Fantail is very beautiful and I see no big difference between him and the "show-worthy" except shape. He's fairly large, his body is about 5 inches, with tail its about 8. Anybody know why these fish are overlooked?

A 3 year old crawdad in my aquirium was moulting and I moved it's hiding place. I accidently touched him and his legs came off. This stopped the moulting process. This was 2 weekends ago. I think I hurt it pretty bad but yet it is still living. Just a quaddraplegic with 5 less legs. Poor thing. I tried to drop food pelets but I don't believe it ate them. I think it might be curtians for her. Have any insite on the subject? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crawdad

Thank you

i got a serious problem with it in my tropical tank, it grows on the glass, the gravel, the rocks, the filters, the plants even!

I emptied and fully cleaned every part of the tank 2 weeks ago, scrubbed every trace of algae away and already the problem is back.

I give it 12 hours light a day as i also have plants so less light is not really an option.

I am going to get some algae eating fish this week but i doubt even they could eat the ammount that grows.

What else can i do?

I have a five gallon tank that holds about 70+ baby fish (it is big enough)

I have:

1 Platty
35 Neon swordtails
22 Guppies
13 Red eye swordtails

The tank also holds:
1 small heater (which has been going at a steady temperature of 24 degrees celsius)
1 small filter with carbon and sponge
1 Real plant

In the last 24 hours around half of the fish have died.

I cleaned out the tank, got rid of the real plant and cleaned the filter and heater, and gave the tank fresh, clean water.

A few more of the fish have died since.

What do you think it could be?
Is there anyway of preventing this?

I have an emporer tetra, and she is spinning around the water, acting really wierd. She won't stop spinning around and swimming sideways, and upside down. Why is she doing this. I fear she may be sick....she lives in a community tank, and no one else is acting the same way.

My fish Jeremy Kyle got Whitespot about 2 weeks ago. I took him out of the aquarium and isolated him in a fishy hosptial (A spare tank I had) When I put him in the spare tank he became very lethargic and looked on death's door, so after a week I put him back with the other fish. He's perked up loads and seems happy as larry but he still has whitespots (he doesn't look to be suffering though)
Since he first got the white spot I have been treating him as directed every 2 days with whitespot treatment. None of the other fish have the illness but the spots just don't seem to be clearing up on Jeremy Kyle.
Any recommendations as to what I should do if anything?

Thay kept eating thier spawns so I got tired of them and re did thier tank now they are together. what other fish can I put with them that would be able to hold it's own while also being a god match for my angels. thanks
