10-60 fry. The survival rate depends on the other fish in the tank and the amount of plants the babies have to hide in. Other fish will happily eat these babies.

It also depends on how well you care for them. Babies, without adult fish to eat them, properly fed and cared for should almost ALL survive... But if you let the water get dirty, forget to feed them, etc, the survival rate will be low. Babies are delicate.

i got 10!! but i also made a BIG boo boo!! see i got my female and she was pregnant but i was sure there was still about 2 weeks before she would have them!! so i put her in my 10 gallon with my male betta (they get a false bad rap they are actually nice community tank fish) well in the morning surprise surprise there was a bunch of little babies darting every were!! although i am pretty sure my betta had some fish sandwiches because he kicked off 2 days later. so you should actually have between 10-30!!
GOOD LUCK!!

They can have up to 100 fry and about 1/2 of them, if they are cared for properly, will live. If an expert, you can get more than this to live.

Up to 10, you could lose some fry to their mother eating them.

they have lots of babies and they are live-bearers, so go to pet store and buy a guppie tank. it is a little tank for live-bearing moms to have their babies in b/c the babies will sink to the bottom of the tank and there are slats that keep the mom from getting to them.
the reason for this, is that live-bearing moms have a tendency to turn around and eat their babies.
