I just added 3 goldfish to a stable tank yesterday. Today 2 of the 3 are laying on the bottom of the tank. Is there anything I can or should do to help them?

I have a foxface, Scopas Tang, yellow tailed damsel, and an engineer goby i've noticed some rubbing on things and a few dots on the fish i'm pretty sure its ich but i can't treat the tank because of inverts and live rock. i do have a small ten gallon tank that i could put them in to medicate. my local pet store told me he would loan me a filter that would take most the parasites out if i left it on for a couple hrs. but should i leave the fish in a seperate tank longer than that to medicate them also what should i medicate them with? and how long would it take them being left out of the tank for the parasites to starve off? from now on i will put new fish in the smaller tank first for a few weeks but for now i just need to know how to clean up this mess at hand.

I have had freshwater tanks but I really want a saltwater tank. What is an ideal size for a beginner? Is it a good idea to buy a used one? If I bought it new (say like a 40 gallon), how much would the tank and equipment be? What equipment do you need? How do you get the "salt" in the water? Most private saltwater tanks I see are filthy! How often would I have to clean it to keep it clean and how do you clean it? I would want maybe 3 different fish. What kinds of saltwater fish get along with each other? I also heard it is nearly impossible to keep seahorses alive in a tank. Is it possible? What are some of the average prices of fish? Are there special cleaning fish to help cut down on algae and what kind of live plants and coral can I add? Overall, with the tank and equipment and fish about what price range could I expect to pay (if I got used stuff and got 3 of the lesser expensive fish)? Sorry about all the questions. Even if you answer only one, it'll help!

I have a small pond in my garden and it is under direct sunlight. It often gets dirtied with algae very easily. Is having a bigger filtering pump the answer or do I need to constantly add algicide or other chemicals to clear the water. I have small carps in the pond. Would really appreciate help in finding a solution to this. Thanks.

I have a 30 gallon freshwater tank with 3 angelfish, 1 blue gourami, and a silver dollar.

The silver dollar is being treated with melafix for fin rot, using the prescribed dosage. Today was the fourth day of a seven-day treatment.

Ammonia and nitrites are testing fine, but the pH is between 8.0 and 8.5 today thought it was only at 7.0 yesterday. What's going on? And how do I fix it? Help!

This is a new established tank...sort of. My friend is moving out of state, so I adopted his tank. We moved it from his house to mine on Wednesday, and transferred about 1/3 of the old water. I'm using Cycle to help establish the tank. The fish are already stressed from the move (not eating, silver dollar developed fin rot) -- and this pH spike isn't helping. They seem very agitated. Help!

I think I may be killing him slowly. Since I have been treating my fantails for fin rot and using ammo lock he has been really still. He barely ever moves and I never see him eat anything. I read somewhere that invertebrates can't withstand fish medications. Is this true? If so what can I do with Him? I don't want him to die like his brother :\ (he died last week)

also one of my fantails had red gills and the left gill started to go brown, now it's black and it's spreading all along both sides of her body, also the tips of her fins are black. Is she dying too? I asked at the pet store and they didn't know what it was. She was bright orange when I got her under 6 weeks ago.

Any help v appreciated. Thanks

So i have to change water, but i do not know when should i be doing that, i mean weekly or everyday, and how? How much gallon tank will 15 fry need?!

My fish isn't floating on his stomach but he is contstantly upside down in one spot. He's a goldfish..the kind with the brainy looking head. I feed him floating pellets twice a day. Is that what is causing the problem? He didn't do this for like 4 months, just started floating upside down a few days ago. When he does float upside down, he stays in one position. Please tell me what's wrong with him! I don't want him to die. =[

Thanks

I was wondering that if I put a heater in a 10 Gallon tank that has dividers, will the heater heat the whole tank or just the place where the heater is? And also, where can I get a heater for a 10 gallon tank?
