I was wondering that if I put a heater in a 10 Gallon tank that has dividers, will the heater heat the whole tank or just the place where the heater is? And also, where can I get a heater for a 10 gallon tank?

you need to place the heater where there is water circulation. Usually the outflow from the filter. The water flow transfers the heat around the aquarium. Obviously the dividers have holes in them so the water will flow through them. Check to ensure the fish need heat( I'm sure u did though) If you are using an undergravel filter, there probably isnt enough circulation. You can buy a heater anywhere that sells fish. The submersible ones are the best(you definately dont have to worry about getting it wet, and they tend to disperse heat better. Always submerge them horizontally. Because you only have a 10 gallon you can get a low wattage. The higher watts are for larger aquariums, Unless u are going to invest in a bigger one...............We always do!!!!

as long as it is a devider that allows water to pass through it you'll be fine adding a heater. it is best to put the heater near the filter intake and then put a thermometer on the opposit side of the aquarium. you would want a 50 watt heater - to smaller and the heater will work to hard and burn out, to big and it will cook your fish. get a submersiable heater with a preset thermostat on top, otherwise they're a pain in the butt to set
