We have had fish tanks for many years. Your fish will be ok if they wait one more day to be fed...by nature, they will scrounge the bottom of the tank for any remnants or will pick off any algae they find. The only thing you have to worry about having an immediate affect on your fish would be sudden drastic temperature changes. Going without food would be ok. Do not put bread into their tank....if they eat it so quick that it doesn't have a chance to swell up, it will do so in their stomachs making them sick. Also, it will pollute your water. Fish food is made special to avoid the pitfalls of other food in the tank. If you really feel bad, believe it or not, fish like vegetables (remember, they will eat algae when hungry). Don't use vegetables that have a lot of juice that will go into the tank, like tomatoes (yes, technically it is a fruit), but slice a piece or two of something like zucchini, place in the water and if they are really hungry they will nibble on it. No danger of swelling in their stomachs and less chance of polluting your tank.

Don't worry about one more night but you can get one or two tinned peas well washed for the cat fish or a scalded lettuce leaf.
Raw cucumber would also feed all these fish.
I own a pet store and care sheets are free on my website

Fish continually favor to eat! Everytime I turn the basic on in my fish tank, all my platies and guppies rush to the accurate and swim over one yet another because they imagine it truly is lunch time! you would imagine your fish is being lovable, yet do not let them trick you into over-feeding. maximum fish favor to be fed two times an afternoon, goldfish many times once an afternoon. once you've a betta and he eat's those pellets, then about 3 pellets two times an afternoon is adequate. in the different case, feed your fish as a lot as they'll eat in a jiffy. once you get used to feeding your fishies, you'll comprehend how a lot is "adequate". <><

I've seen them put zucchini in the fish tanks at Petsmart. They said fish consider it a treat. Try weighing it down first (I think they had it tied to a rock)

Hi,
Don't worry about it, they will be fine without food for several days.
If you think they are near death, you could offer some insects (like worms - make sure you get them from a pesticide-free area), bits of tuna fish, pieces of cheeries, peas... No guarantees they will eat it and be sure to remove anything they don't eat.

Don't you remember as a kid feeding bread to the fish in a park pond? Break small pieces of bread for them to tide them over till you get more.
