No they are not, in fact practically no fish you can keep domestically are edible. Piranhas maybe, but after you'd paid a fortune for them you wouldn't be wanting to eat them.
Get down to the fishmonger's and pick out a nice piece of smoked haddock or cod or something, and stop looking at poor old goldfish as your next meal !!!.

I ate one before just for the fun of it. It was one from the the funfair that i won on hook a duck. So yeah i suppose they are editble as i ate one and lived to tell the tale.

Any fish is edible if treated in the correct manner.
Goldfish are realy a species of carp and have been kept for hundreds of years in China as a food fish when they big enough.
Goldfish can grow to over 12" in length and they can be cooked like any other fish.

They are if you are using them for "feeder" fish. I regularly use small goldfish to feed my freshwater siclids and catfish in a tank at home.
